Tony Blackburn has now introduced his remaining local BBC present.

The radio legend, who has spent 43 years filling our airwaves with music and his reassuring voice, is barely changing course.

The Coronation Street superfan shall be leaving native radio where he's been a fixture on Berkshire, Oxford and Solent to as an alternative think about other tasks together with work on Radio 2.

On his remaining ever show, he began his remaining sign-off by acknowledging the last track he'd chosen: 'That's Regulation Rauls and You'll By no means Discover One other Love Like Mine.

'Nicely, 43 years on BBC native radio and that's it as far as I'm concerned.

'Thanks a lot. I need to thanks very a lot indeed for listening to me through the years. Thanks very much for that.

'It's been a pleasure being here and I look ahead to being with you elsewhere let's put it that method.

'Once once more thanks very much indeed for all of the reminiscences and all the stunning music, I hope you've loved the music I've introduced you on Sunday afternoons.

'And from me Tony Blackburn to BBC Native Radio, bye-bye,' he concluded.

He originally announced his choice to go away his native radio programme after 14 years last month.

'Hi there, simply needed to let you already know that I have decided to finish my BBC Native Radio Sunday afternoon present that goes out on @BBCBerkshire, @BBCOxford, @BBCRadioSolent and @BBCSounds,' he wrote on X.

'My last present will probably be on March 24th. I have been a part of the Berkshire lineup since 2012 and have liked doing the show bringing music from the 50s up to the current day.

'I've beloved the callers and the fun we've some stage I'd come again to BBC Local Radio but, for now, I'm going to concentrate on my @BBCRadio2 exhibits, Sounds Of The Sixties and the Golden Hour and my theatre tour which comes again in March.'

Tony was the first disc jockey to take to the mic on Radio 1 when it launched in 1967 and went on to carve out a really profitable profession as one of the UK's best-known radio stars.

In November 2010 he took over the reins of Radio 2's Decide Of The Pops programme following on from its two previous long-serving hosts, Alan Freeman and Dale Winton.

To add to his listing of accolades, he also gained the first-ever I'm A Movie star back in 2002.

Having lived such an unimaginable life, he was asked to write down a ebook in 1985, which was referred to as Dwelling Legend: Tony Blackburn Story. Although, he's now admitted one aspect of his romantic life was 'made up' to make the chapters more salacious.

Last yr Tony was& hospitalised with pneumonia& after first saying he had a chest an infection.

It was later revealed he also& contracted sepsis& as he fought off the an infection, spending two months in complete in hospital.

In December, he stepped down from Soul On Sunday show on& BBC& Radio& London& after presenting numerous exhibits on the station since 1981.
