Jerry Balkenbush awoke to discover a pile of tree branches in his front yard and immediately informed his spouse there had been a storm.

Nevertheless, she knew in another way.

"I was speaking to my spouse, Emily, and I used to be like, 'Hey, we had a storm last night time,' and she or he was like, 'Oh, no, that's Edward Scissorhands,'" Balkenbush advised native CBS affiliate DFW in 2022.

"Individuals in the neighborhood have been speaking about it and it looks like he was simply hitting certain streets," Emily explained.

Surveillance footage from the neighborhood emerged displaying the unidentified man chopping down elements of timber at around three am.

"He starts trimming the tree and admiring his work and type of stepping again," fellow resident Danny Thomann stated.

"We actually simply need him to cease doing this."

"Typically he'll just take slightly bit, however then in other individuals's timber, he'll take large gobs," Ashley Thomann added.

While the neighbors are puzzled by the person and his strange nighttime pastime, they're more involved about how his actions might value them money.

She added that the tree chopping can also be a security difficulty.

"We don't want someone to get harm," Ashley stated.

With the neighborhood being a part of a householders association (HOA), residents have strict rules to adhere to referring to the appearance of the properties and streets.

Failure to take action is a violation of HOA rules and will incur fines for householders.

The tree-cutting incidents started growing around October 2022, in line with DFW, with round a dozen timber being trimmed on three totally different streets in only one night time.

Police reviews have been filed by impacted residents but the man's id continues to be unknown.

The Fort Value Police Department has been contacted for comment.

WIDOW FIGHTS BACK

The U.S. Sun has previously reported on a widow who was threatened by her HOA for slicing down timber after her husband was killed when one crashed into their house.

Allan Lee died in July 2023 in Dumfries, Virginia, when a tree crashed by way of his house whereas he was having a shower.

His wife Rachel noted that the clay soil their house is constructed on makes it extra probably that the encompassing timber can be knocked over in storms.

To protect herself and her youngsters she hired a contractor to take away the rest of the timber in her backyard, without getting permission from her HOA.
