She lost the funds while surfing the internet during a work lunch break in June 2023, per CTV News.

Capretta searched Bank of Montreal on Google and thought she was being taken to the organization's page.

She logged in and a one-time authentication code was sent to an email.

Capretta continued to proceed and entered the code.

"As soon as I put in that passcode, I literally just blinked, and $3,000 was gone from my account," she cried.

Capretta said the webpage vanished after she was deprived of the money.

Compounding matters, she's struggled to recover the missing money.

Bank of Montreal staffers launched an investigation into Capretta's case.

The bank concluded that she would not be reimbursed.

The banking giant refused to comment on Capretta's specific case after being approached by CTV.

The U.S. Sun has approached the Bank of Montreal for comment.

Experts at the Better Business Bureau have warned that fake websites can convincingly look like real versions.

The organization has shared tips on how Americans can tell a website is fake, but they're not always incredibly easy to spot.

The first port of call is to look at the domain.

<p class="article__content--intro"> As scams become more sophisticated with the use of artificial intelligence, it is important you know how to spot a scam: </p> </div> </div>

There may be slight misspellings or letters could be switched around.

Internet users should also pay attention to the website's layout and be wary of phishing links.

Security experts at Kaspersky have warned that some scam websites have a sophisticated design.

But fraudsters will use emotion to try and hoodwink their victims.

Common scams include offers that sound too good to be true such as a free gift.

Meanwhile, others will threaten users that malware is about to be loaded onto their devices if they don't act.

Scam websites can be reported to banking organizations and agencies such as the IRS.

A FIRST-TIME homeowner has said she feels trapped in her home despite securing a low mortgage rate.

Amanda, who lived in Portland, Oregon, said she and her husband felt bound by "golden handcuffs."

The homeowner, 36, and her husband Drew, 41, purchased their home in early 2021, during the pandemic.

She said they could afford their home due to the low 3.5% interest rate they locked in for a long-term fixed-rate deal, according to Realtor.com.

"It felt like a now-or-never moment," Amanda said.

"Lower rates equated to more buying power."

The couple purchased a three-bedroom and two-bathroom house, which they said would previously have been unattainable for them.

This ideal situation turned sour when the couple had a son and considered moving back to her hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Amanda said she felt unable to leave due to the drastic rise in interest rates they would have to take on for a new property.

The current average mortgage rate for buyers is 7.57%, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Amanda described her fixed-low mortgage rate as "golden handcuffs."

"Our current situation is pretty great, but I don't see a viable path forward from here," she said.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

"I feel stuck here."

"There's this fear of losing this really incredible mortgage rate that we have," she added.

Amanda said the couple have considered other options in the face of their crisis.

They have contemplated renting out their Portland home and using the cash from there to rent in Chicago.

The U.S. Sun has previously reported on other homeowners who have also been "trapped" by their mortgage rates.

Nancy Farrington said she was worried about the prospects of successfully selling her condo in this economic climate.

The Boston, Massachusetts, homeowner said she bought her home in 2021 with a 30-year low-rate fixed contract.

She explained that her home, in a desirable part of the city, could be stuck with her, when she plans to move back home to Charleston, South Carolina, as people could be unwilling to take on high rates.

"These days, who is going to take on an 8 percent mortgage?" Farrington said.

"That makes me very pessimistic, but then again, I'm a Catholic and a Red Sox fan, so I'm always pessimistic," she added.

THE latest US Powerball winners may have been handed a $1.3 billion check on Monday, but the trio is due to lose the majority of their cash to taxes and their decision to receive a lump sum prize.

Cheng Saephan, 46, was revealed as the winner of the historic $1.3billion Powerball jackpot drawing on April 7 earlier today.

Saephan, his wife and their friend will only take home a portion of the prize after taxes[/caption]

He and his 37-year-old wife, Duanpen, are taking half the prize money, while the rest is going to a friend, 55 -year-old Laiza Liem Chao.

Chao had chipped in $100 to buy a batch of 20 tickets with the couple.

The trio elected to take a lump sum payment rather than have it paid out over a 30-year annuity, which means they are awarded the cash value of the jackpot.

The cash value of the $1.3billion jackpot is $621million according to the Oregon Lottery Commission.

However, because they are all residents of Portland, Oregon, the amount they will actually walk away with after federal and state taxes is $422 million.

Since lottery winnings are treated as income by the federal government and many states as well, the jackpots are subject to state and federal income tax.

Federal taxes for lottery winners are 24% for any prize winnings over $5,000, which lottery agencies automatically withhold, according to TurboTax.

Electing to take the lump sum, which is what is most commonly chosen by prize winners, often also puts them in a higher tax bracket of 37%.

If the earnings put the winner in higher tax bracket, they owe the difference between the withholding amount and their total tax.

The percentage of a person's lottery winnings that is withheld varies by state.

In Oregon, the amount withheld is 8%, which is one of the highest in the country, after New York, Maryland, and Washington D.C., according to the Tax Foundation, an international think tank that researches government taxes.

However, there are 13 states that do not collect additional taxes on lottery winnings.

Those states include Alabama, Alaska, California, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

If a winner takes their winnings in an annuity payment plan, they may not yet fall in the highest tax bracket each year, dependent on the size of the prize and their other income.

They also receive interest on the jackpot, which means overall they would get to retain more of their winnings.

Cheng Saephan revealed in a press conference on Monday that he intends to use his winnings to help him in his fight against cancer.

"I am able to provide for my family and my health," Saephan said.

"My life has been changed. Now I can bless my family and hire a good doctor for myself.

"How am I going to have time to spend all of this money?"

Saephan said he will also use the money to buy his dream house for his family.

But he doesn't plan on moving out of Oregon.

"I love Oregon. I've been here 30 years, so I'm not going to move out. I'm going to stay here," he said.

The dad of two purchased the ticket at a Plaid Pantry store in northeast Portland on April 6.

The winning tickets were made up of the numbers 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, and the red Powerball 9.

Saephan's winning ticket was the eighth-largest jackpot in US history.

Millions dream of winning the lottery and finding fame and fortune. These are the biggest winners in US lottery history.

A FORMER McDonald's corporate chef has explained why customers cannot customize their breakfast burrito.

Unlike many items on the chain's menu, guests cannot personalize their orders of the early-morning favorite.

Former corporate chef Mike Haracz revealed why[/caption]

Most sandwiches and entrées on the McDonald's menu can be customized.

Guests can elect to remove items like pickles or sauces and add extras such as an additional slice of cheese.

But many customers have noticed that this is not the case with the line-up of breakfast burritos.

Turns out, there's a very specific reason for this, as former McDonald's corporate chef Mike Haracz (@chefmikeharacz) explained in a recent TikTok video.

According to Haracz, that's why adding extras to the breakfast burrito such as a hashbrown inside "is not gonna happen because they're already wrapped and mixed together."

"In the restaurant, they receive frozen tortillas and a frozen mix of egg, sausage, peppers, and all that, already mixed together," he said.

"The crew then wrap ahead of time like a prep step before breakfast service.

Haracz explained the process as follows: "The tortillas, the egg, sausage mixture, a piece of cheese. Wrap it up, put it in the paper, put a sticker on it.

"In some cases, they will microwave a whole bunch of them and put them in the universal holding cabinet."

The universal holding cabinet is a piece of kitchen equipment made specifically for McDonald's that keeps food hot and fresh.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

"If not, they are microwaving them to order," said Haracz.

The U.S. Sun has contacted McDonald's to verify what Haracz said.

In other McDonald's news, the chain has quietly reintroduced a popular drink to the menu.

The Oreo frappe has returned for the first time since 2023.

It's the drink's second comeback since it was originally discontinued in 2015.

The sweet, icy beverage features chocolate flavor, coffee notes, and bits of Oreo cookies.

It is topped with crumbled cookies and whipped cream.

PRICE INCREASES

However, some diners in California are experiencing menu price increases in response to a new law.

The state's $20 minimum wage for fast food workers came into effect April 1, and many fast food franchises have increased prices to compensate.

However, one franchise owner has vowed to fight the law.

A TACO Bell employee has revealed a crucial hack to customers that could let them get more beans for less.

The staffer noted that the menu secret wouldn't cost much money, but the bean benefit would be significant.

An employee at Taco Bell seemingly revealed a bean hack for customers[/caption]

They spilled the information after a request from a fan, who noted their love for Taco Bell's beans.

The customer wanted to know which specific order combination would allow for the most beans at the same relative purchase price.

"Taco Bell employees…which option would get me the most beans?" they asked in a thread on Reddit.

"No judgment, please…I just love their beans."

They also included a screenshot of their order.

It showed a Pintos N Cheese bowl along with a Bean Burrito with extra beans added.

The price for both were listed at $2.49 and $2.44, respectively.

An employee quickly replied that the customer had already selected the menu item with the opportunity for the most beans at Taco Bell.

It would be through the Bean Burrito and selecting extra beans.

The staffer claimed that beans are distributed to menu options at the fast food chain through two different scoops, a "green scoop" and a "red scoop."

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

Green scoops supposedly offer a standard amount of beans, while red is designated for smaller quantities.

In the Bean Burrito, according to the employee, there is typically one green scoop of beans.

With the extra beans selection, a red scoop is added.

They also confirmed that the Pinto N Cheese bowl comes with a green scoop of beans.

That means the customer would be getting a total of two green scoops and one red scoop of beans in their order.

The employee noted its the best option price-wise for the beans at a total of $4.93.

ANOTHER WAY?

Another suggested that the customer should instead opt for a Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito in their order, as it is "$1 less" in comparison to the Bean Burrito.

They'd get slightly less beans, as it only features one red scoop, but it would be cheaper, and they'd still get the complete green scoop in the Pinto N Cheese bowl.

"Your best bean/$ ratio though would probably be cheesy bean and rice burrito," the Taco Bell staffer wrote in a post.

"It gets one small scoop but it's $1 less."

"Need to do more math on it, but that's my theory so far," they added.

It would seemingly make more sense for the customer to add the Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito for the extra $1, or leave it out altogether and stick with their original order.

They would have to decide if the extra $1 was worth the small red scoop of additional beans.

The U.S. Sun also has the story on the way customers can swap toppings at the chain for a "fresco" style, according to a staffer.

In a post to the subreddit r/ThriftStoreHauls, a thrift shopper shared their lucky find.

They had stumbled upon a pair of diamond earrings for $6.99, which they authenticated using a diamond tester.

In the comments, the shopper explained that they test "pretty much any clear stone that is in gold unless it's abnormally large because it's unlikely a diamond."

In addition to the stones, the backs of the earrings gave away their value.

The thrifter explained that the backs of her earrings were more secure than traditional earring backs.

"Generally, they do not make lower quality earrings with higher quality mechanisms," they wrote.

After realizing the diamonds and gold were real, the user took them to a jeweler to be appraised.

The jeweler determined each diamond was half a carat.

The appraiser also noted that the yellow gold basket setting was 18 karat and the earring backs were 14 karat.

The $6 find was appraised at a whopping $4,682.

REDDIT REACTS

Fellow thrifters were amazed the user had such luck at the discount store.

"You win thriftstorehauls," wrote one person in a comment that had over 1,500 upvotes.

"I just said HOLY S**T out loud. My gosh what a find," said another.

While some chimed in about their less-than-valuable thrift finds, including "eight cents in a dirty wallet," others noted their costly discoveries.

One thrifter found a Michael Kors trenchcoat worth $500, and another scored a Pandora charm bracelet worth $800.

Other savvy shoppers scored valuable goods outside of the thrift store setting.

One person hit up an auction where they found a box filled with gold jewelry for only $5, while another "hit a jackpot" at an estate sale, scoring $4,000 worth of gold for only $140.

The U.S. Sun has previously reported on thrift store treasures.

A shopper scored a popular vase for just $25 – it's actually worth $1,500 all because of the brand.

Another thrifted famous lamps for just $12.99 – they're worth $1,200 because of a signature.

A LOTTO player said he trusted his gut decision and ended up $2 million richer.

Donnie Leviner, from Laurinburg, North Carolina, by the state border with South Carolina, explained what led him to make his life-changing lottery purchase.

Donnie Leviner won $2million from a scratch card game[/caption]

The 18-year-old purchased a $20 Big Cash Payout ticket on a whim, according to NC Education Lottery.

"Something just told me to buy it," he said.

The young man said he hadn't purchased many lotto tickets before this lucky win.

Leviner bought the ticket at Sneads Grove Convenience in Laurel Hill, an hour southwest of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

"I initially just went there to fill up the lawn mower," he said.

Leviner had matched the correct numbers on his scratch card ticket.

"I was in disbelief," Leviner said.

"I really didn't think it was true."

Leviner visited his state's lottery office to claim the money but an important decision meant he walked away with less than half of his jackpot prize.

Players are given the option between a lump sum or annuity payments, which are spread over 20 years.

<!-- End of Brightcove Player -->

These $100,000-a-year installments would total $2 million with rising interest rates.

Players can also select the lump-sum option, which is subject to fees and taxes.

Leviner opted for the one-time payment of $1.2 million but his take-home dropped to $858,006 after state and federal taxes.

The young man said he was unsure how he wanted to use his newfound wealth but would "spend it wisely."

This $20 Big Cash Payout game was released in July 2023.

There were four $2 million jackpot prizes available when the game started and now two of these huge wins are left.

Players also have a chance to win the five remaining $100,000 prizes.

Leviner has not been the only lottery player to take home such a large win from a split-second decision.

An anonymous player in Michigan explained how she won $2 million after she bought a ticket on her way to pick up pizza.

The 41-year-old woman said her husband typically bought their lotto slips but she decided to buy a scratch card that day.

She also shared that the random twist of fate was that she was not the typical person in her household to purchase lottery tickets.

"My husband is usually the one who buys scratch off tickets, but I decided to stop and buy one on my way to pick up pizza," she said.

The player added that she instantly found out she had won a life-changing amount of cash.

"While I was waiting for my pizza, I sat in my car and scratched the ticket," she said.

"It was surreal when I realized I'd won $2 million."

The lucky player explained what she did next as soon as she found out the good news.

"I called my husband to tell him the big news because I was so excited.

"I couldn't wait until I got home!"

She later visited the state's lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her money.

Players are given the option between a one-time payment or an annuity option that would spread out the installments across years.

The 41-year-old chose the one-time option but this wiped a large chunk of her winnings off after fees and taxes were taken.

She ended up walking away with $1.3 million.

This winner said she planned to spend the cash on a vacation and paying off bills.

MISSED MONEY

The U.S. Sun has reported on other high-value lottery tickets yet to be claimed.

A $500,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold in Mason City, Iowa, about two hours away from Des Moines.

This ticket matched all five numbers and the Powerball, which was five.

The other numbers were 12, 23, 44, 57, and 61.

This player must claim their prizes by September 12.

THE controversial resale market has taken over the restaurant business, where one reservation purveyor is pocketing thousands flipping dinner tables.

Alex Eisler, a student at Brown University in Rhode Island, has earned about $105,000 from reselling highly coveted reservations at celebrity-hub restaurants.

Eisler has profited hundreds off reservations at Ralph Lauren's Polo Bar[/caption]

Since November 2022, Eisler has been conducting his side business using the Appointment Trader app – an online marketplace that allows users to buy and sell restaurant reservations using an auction model.

Like many of the binders on the app, Eisler said he first stumbled upon the marketplace while trying to secure a reservation at the New York City steakhouse 4 Charles Prime Rib.

Eisler peaked in the resale market after developing a code and bot to automate the process.

The largest profit was for a whopping $1,358 for a reservation at a Japanese restaurant in Boston.

"It has never really been about the money for me," the college student told The New Yorker.

"I just wanted to bring supply and demand together."

At Carbone, an Italian restaurant in NYC's Greenwich Village, reservations are so elusive that hopeful diners are willing to fetch out thousands for a table.

Eisler told the outlet he sold a table at Carbone for $1050 on the app.

After fees deducted by Appointment Tracker, typically between 20% to 30%, Eisler said he took home approximately $70,000.

Eisler has even made faux phone numbers and emails to try and score reservations.

"Sometimes they recognize my voice, so I have to do different accents," he told the outlet.

"I have to act like a girl sometimes, I'm, like, 'Hiiiii, is it possible to book a reservation?'"

Nicky DiMaggio, a waste management business owner, also flips tables on the side, charging between $500 to $1,000.

"My client list is like the NBA, Megan Fox," he told The New Yorker.

DiMaggio said he made thousands in 2023 off his side hustle.

The most a diner paid DiMaggio for a reservation was $5,000 for a table at the French eatery Per Se.

"A woman called me and said her boss (who was a billionaire) was flying into New York for a meeting and he wanted to take his clients to dinner," DiMaggio said.

"She said he was flying into Teterboro, the driver was going to pick him up, take them to a restaurant called Per Se, and he's going back home."

"I got the Per Se Reservation done in ten minutes. She sent me the wire within five minutes."

Harry Kane has sent records tumbling since his big money move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham last summer.

The England captain has bagged an astonishing 42 goals for the German giants in all competitions this season, with 35 of those coming in the Bundesliga, making this campaign Kane's most prolific in front of goal to date.

But despite his goalscoring heroics, Kane could remarkably finish the season empty-handed, with the league and cup having evaded Bayern meaning their Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid now takes on extra significance.

Let's take a look at all the records the former Tottenham man has broken this season with Bayern Munich.

Which records has Harry Kane broken this season?

Record Bundesliga and Bayern Munich signing – Bayern paid £100m for Kane's services, which could rise to £120m in add-ons, smashing the £68m which Bayern parted with to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid in 2019.

Kane has been in stunning form this season (Picture: Getty)

Bundesliga 22/23 Golden Boot tally surpassed – Kane took just 11 games to surpass the 16 goals scored by Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug last season.

Fastest player to reach 20 Bundesliga goals– The benchmark was reached after just 15 games, breaking the record previously held by the legendary Uwe Seeler, who required 21 matches to reach the landmark in the 1963/64 season.

Top scoring Englishman in a single Bundesliga season – Jadon Sancho and Kevin Keegan held the previous record with 17 goals, for Borussia Dortmund in 2019/20 and for Hamburg in 1978/79 respectively. Kane required only 12 games to set the new record.

Most goals scored in a player's opening five Bayern league games – Mario Mandzukic, Miroslav Klose and Gerd Muller all scored five goals in their first five games, with Kane edging past that tally with seven strikes.

Most goals in first 10 Bundesliga appearances – Kane scored 15 goals in his first ten league outings. Only Klaus Matischak had scored at least 13 in a player's first ten Bundesliga appearances, with his goals arriving for Schalke in 1963/64.

Most goals in a single season of Kane's career – Surpassing the 41 he scored for Tottenham in 2017/18.

Most Bundesliga goals in a debut season – Uwe Seeler held the previous record with 30 goals scored for Hamburg in the inaugural Bundesliga campaign in 1963/64.

Top English goalscorer in the Bundesliga – Jadon Sancho is second on the list with 40 for Borussia Dortmund, whilst Tony Woodcock is third with 39 goals in 131 appearances across two spells with Cologne.

Fewest games needed to reach 30 Bundesliga goals – Kane needed just 25 matches to rack up goal number 30. For comparison, Erling Haaland needed 32 for Borussia Dortmund.

First player to score at least two goals in eight matches during his debut season – Kane (9) has beaten the previous record of seven matches managed by Friedhelm Konietzka in 1963/64 and then by Toni Polster in 1993/94.

Could Harry Kane beat Robert Lewandowski's record for the most goals ever in a Bundesliga season?

Robert Lewandowski broke Gerd Muller's long-standing record of 40 Bundesliga goals in a season with 41 for Bayern Munich in 2020/21.

Kane is currently seven goals away from claiming the ultimate record set by the Polish icon, but faces a race against time with only three league games remaining.

Jofra Archer has been recalled to the England squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The fast bowler, 29, has not featured for England in over a year due to a reoccurring elbow injury but has played club cricket in Barbados and turned out for Sussex in pre-season.

Before his injury issues began, Archer helped England win the 50-over World Cup, taking 20 wickets across the 2019 tournament and holding his nerve in a tense super over in the final against New Zealand.

England's 15-man provisional squad also includes Chris Jordan and uncapped spinner Tom Hartley, but two-time World Cup winner Chris Woakes misses out.

The same squad will face Pakistan in a four-match T20 series starting on May 22 before flying to the Caribbean at the end of the month ahead of their first T20 World Cup game against Scotland on June 4.

The eight members of the squad currently playing in the Indian Premier League will return for the beginning of the Pakistan series, the ECB have confirmed.

England are the T20 World Cup holders having lifted the trophy in 2022, but Jos Buttler's side crashed out of last year's 50-over World Cup before the knockout stages.

The England selectors and head coach Matthew Mott have until a May 25 deadline to update their squad.

Buttler will lead the side and has enjoyed a return to form at the IPL, scoring two unbeaten centuries for Rajasthan Royals.

England will look for batting firepower from the likes of Buttler, Harry Brook, Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow, who also hit an unbeaten ton in the IPL after being dropped by Punjab Kings.

Archer and Jordan are joined in the bowling ranks by Sam Curran, Mark Wood and Reece Topley, while Adil Rashid goes into the T20 World Cup as the No. 1 ranked bowler in the world.

England Test captain Ben Stokes, who steered the side to victory in the last T20 World Cup final, made himself unavailable for this tournament in order to focus on his fitness.

The T20 World Cup, which takes place in the West Indies and United States, begins on June 2 with co-hosts United States facing Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

Discussing Archer's recall, England chief Rob Key said: 'Jofra is that bowler that is just so special that you do everything you can to get him back playing.

'We've taken the longer road this time but as always with Jofra it's fingers crossed until he's out there playing. Like when you're waiting for something really good to happen, you don't quite believe it until he's there, but he's tracking well at the moment.

'The next step is when he gets into that Pakistan series – it's going to be full-match intensity – and how he keeps going through there, but at the moment we're doing everything we can and he's in a good spot.'

Stuart Bingham says it is a simple enough mantra that he will take into his World Snooker Championship clash with Ronnie O'Sullivan: 'Don't miss!'

The 2015 world champion had to come through qualifying to get to the Crucible but has impressed since arriving, beating Gary Wilson and Jack Lisowski so far.

Next up is the biggest test in the game, facing the world number one, but Bingham has beaten him before at the Crucible, downing him at the same quarter-final stage on his amazing run to the world title.

Having conquered the Rocket in the past, he knows how tough a task it is, but says there is only one piece of advice worth listening to.

'Don't miss. Simple as that,' he said. 'I remember playing Ronnie in the semi-final of the Grand Prix, before the World Championship in 2015 and he beat me 6-0. It's good to play him beforehand because you get used to the way he plays and his aura. I ain't played him for a few years.

'So you've got 95 per cent of the crowd on his side and you're playing the best player in the world. Easy as that!

'You've just got to get involved in the match and try and stay with him. He's going to have a little spurt here and there, you've got to try and stick in there.'

Bingham beat O'Sullivan 13-9 in 2015 (Picture: Getty Images)

O'Sullivan was far from faultless in his second round win over Ryan Day, with the Welshman spurning a number of opportunities and Bingham hopes it will be more of the same from the Rocket against him.

'I watched a little bit of his match with Ryan, he gave Ryan a fair few chances so I'll hope he plays like that,' said the 47-year-old. 'But Ronnie's Ronnie. We're 1-1 in quarters, he bashed be up a few years before 13-4.

'So I'll have to touch up on my game, need to score a bit heavier. My safety's good, I'm happy with that but I need to score heavier to have a chance.'

O'Sullivan has not been pushed in wins over Jackson Page and Ryan Day so far (Picture: Getty Images)

Bingham is somewhat freewheeling as a qualifier in the quarter-finals, while O'Sullivan is bidding for a record eighth world title, but Ballrun says there is pressure on everyone in the sport's greatest tournament.

'I'm going for my second. He's going for his eighth. So we've got our own pressures and thoughts,' he said. 'I'm sure he'd love to get to eight.

'To be honest he maybe should be on 12, that's how good he is. But he's obviously fighting for his 8th, that might be why he played a little bit poorly against Ryan, he's got that added pressure.

'But you can't take anything for granted with Ronnie. He's the best player to ever pick up a cue and you need to play really, really well to have a chance.'

Alan Pardew has put forward a surprise name as to who should replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager.

Ten Hag is under huge pressure amid a poor second season in charge at Old Trafford and the Dutchman hasn't been publicly backed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

It is believed that United minority owner Ratcliffe, now in charge of the club's football operations, is keen for a different manager to come in this summer.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is currently seen as the favourite to replace Ten Hag while Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter are also strongly linked.

Pardew, though, has tipped Coventry City boss Mark Robins for the job after he led the Championship side to the semi-finals of this season's FA Cup.

As a player, Robins spent eight years at United from 1984 to 1992, coming through the youth academy and helping them win the FA Cup in 1990.

Robins has been Coventry's manager since 2017 and during his time in charge the Sky Blues have won the League Two play-offs, League One title and EFL Trophy.

The 54-year-old Englishman had his first taste of managerial experience when he was handed the Rotherham United job in 2007.

He then managed Barnsley, Coventry, Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe United before he returned to the Sky Blues for a second stint.

Robins has taken charge of 761 games to date as a manager – winning 296, drawing 201 and losing 264 for a 38.90% win percentage.

'I have got a gaffer for you,' Pardew said on talkSPORT. 'Are you ready? He is not an international, he has not won the Dutch league, he has not won the French league.

'He is an old player of yours. He has done brilliant for four seasons, he almost beat you in the semi-final – Mark Robins.

'There you go. Get him in. He will do you a job, I tell you.'

Arsenal star Declan Rice has called out Roy Keane for unfair criticism and has aimed a dig at the Manchester United legend over his goalscoring record.

Keane raised eyebrows last year when he said that Rice doesn't score enough goals, doesn't provide enough assists and needs to do 'more' to be a top player.

Fellow pundits Graeme Souness and Jamie Redknapp have also criticised Rice for his lack of goal involvements but the Englishman has dismissed their opinions too.

Rice, who normally operates in a deep-lying midfield role, has conjured up six goals and eight assists across 35 Premier League games for Arsenal this season.

Quizzed if he felt criticism of his scoring record was fair, Rice told The Athletic: 'No, not really.

'Because Roy Keane, (Graeme) Souness, (Jamie) Redknapp, people that talk about my goalscoring ability, if you looked at their goals, they didn't score hundreds in their career.

'But they're remembered for what they did as midfield players: Roy Keane breaking up play, being a hard-tackling midfielder, won loads of titles for United.

'The same with Souness. So I don't know why when it comes to me it's all about goals, because it's never been my game. Since I've been scoring, no one has said anything!'

Keane provided 51 goals and 39 assists across 477 appearances for United while Souness scored 55 times and registered 40 assists in 358 games for Liverpool.

Redknapp, meanwhile, made 308 appearances for Liverpool and conjured up 42 goals and 31 assists.

Before he left West Ham to join Arsenal last summer, Rice scored 15 times and produced 13 assists across 245 games.

Since moving across London to the Emirates, Rice has made 48 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, registering six goals and nine assists to date.

Meanwhile, Rice insists he is a different type of player to Manchester City star Rodri as the 25-year-old added: 'He's a lot more structured than I am. I'd say I'm a lot more off-the-cuff. Obviously, this season I've been more structured. But in terms of the way I play, I feel like… being free a little bit more.'

Former boxing world champion, Dingaan Thobela, has died aged 57 after battling illness.

Thobela, nicknamed the 'Rose of Soweto', was found dead in his flat in Johannesburg, South Africa on Monday evening.

Thobela's childhood friend, Eddie Mutungutungu, revealed that he became concerned after being unable to contac the former boxer.

'He was strangely unavailable on his cellphone, and his family, accompanied by police, managed to gain access to his place of residence and found he had passed on,' Mutungutungu said.

During his career, Thobela won three world titles in two weight divisions. He won the WBO lightweight title in 1990 and WBA lightweight belt in 1993 before winning the WBC super-middleweight title in 2000.

Thobela retired in 2006 with a record of 40 wins, 14 defeats and two draws from 56 fights.

South African boxer Kevin Lerena thanked Thobela for being an 'inspiration and motivation'.

'Rest in peace to South African boxing legend Dingaan Thobela,' Lerena wrote on X.

'Your talent and determination in the ring will never be forgotten. You always supported me and believed in my abilities, pushing me to reach my fullest potential. Thank you for your inspiration and motivation, Champ.'

Speaking about his tough upbringing in an interview with Ring Magazine last year, Thobela said: 'Soweto helped make me what I am today. I come from the tough ghetto.

'It was tough in the sense of poverty; we grew up with nothing. My mother abandoned me when I was three months old. She took me to my grandmother on my dad's side. She couldn't raise me. My grandmother nurtured me.

'I was bullied by my elders, and boxing was a form of defense.

'Norman [Hlabane, boxing trainer] had faith in me. He threw me into the amateur ranks.

'He was not there 80 percent of the time, but he would train me and prepare me, and then he would let me go with someone who would be in the corner with me. He saw I was skillful and handled myself against those guys.'
