A HOMEOWNER has raged at her new driveway after she claims a contractor made the exterior of her home multi-colored and charged $21,000.

Kathy McGuinnes from Elk Grove Village, Illinois, is in a bitter row with her contractor who had "no control" over the color of the materials used on her property.

McGuinnes says that she is thousands of dollars down and now has different colored sidewalks and driveway[/caption]

Last year, McGuinnes hired Color Stone Architectural Concrete Finishes and Restoration to carry out major work on the exterior of her property.

The contractor agreed to build a new driveway, and two sidewalks, and partially cement her garage.

However, $21,000 later with the work complete, McGuinness was less than impressed.

"He scribbled all over it," she told ABC News affiliate WLS.

"This side is even worse than that one is."

The homeowner showed the news outlet how the sidewalks are different shades to the driveway.

"The sidewalks are like the yellowish tint. I did not ask for that," she claimed.

"He did not tell me he was going to do it."

In addition to the colors, McGuinnes noted that the sidewalks have been put on an incline.

She claims that this is unsafe for her and that she had specifically requested for there not to be an incline.

With a permanent ankle injury, the homeowner says that the current slope makes it difficult for her to get around.

"The sidewalk, from the driveway up to the stoop, is on an incline, which I very specifically told him I did not want," she said.

"Everything you see here, he did it his way, period."

'NO CONTROL'

However, the contractor argued that the job she asked for was complete and it is in line with the codes implemented by her neighborhood.

He added that "there is no drastic incline" and that the owner wanted an "incline ramp" instead of a step.

Addressing McGuinnes' issues with the color he told the news outlet that it is a "beautiful job."

"We have no control on concrete coloring," he added before claiming that his client did not raise her complaints with him.

After being contacted by the news outlet, the contractor said he was trying to arrange a meeting with the homeowner in a bid to resolve the issue.

Color Stone Architectural Concrete Finishes and Restoration has been contacted for comment.

Due to a permanent ankle injury, McGuinnes claims the incline on her driveway and walkways is dangerous and not what she requested[/caption]

The contractor has denied her claims about the incline saying she requested a ramp and added that he has no control over cement color[/caption]
