Star Penrith Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards is in doubt for the State of Origin opener at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Wednesday after pulling up with quad tightness. Edwards was a shock inclusion after a run of form that included three straight premierships with the Panthers, unseating incumbent fullback and captain James Tedesco. Tedesco is now on standby for Edwards who will have until Sunday to show improvement with the injury.
