The broadcaster was forced to apologise after a poor choice of words left him flustered – and Dame Esther chuckling awkwardly. In January 2023, the That's Life! presenter, 84, announced that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer, which had grown and spread just months later, prompting her to reflect on her mortality.
