Captain America: Brave New World earns $12M in first-night opening despite lukewarm reviews
Captain America: Brave New World hit theaters on Thursday night and headed toward $12M in its first-night earnings. The Disney/Marvel Studios action film is a follow-up to Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier and The Incredible Hulk. According to Deadline, the film is so far doing better than 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier, which came in slightly lower at $10.2M before eventually hitting a $95M opening. And it fell below 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which collected $17.
