All anyone seems to want to ask Famke Janssen about these days is Jean Grey. It's the question she's asked most often: Will she return as the telekinetic, telepathic mutant from the *X-Men* movies?
"Every time I do an interview, it's mentioned," Janssen tells **. (We acknowledge that we, too, asked her about Jean Grey.) "It's interesting. I didn't realize that was such a big part. Every interview I do, that will come up, and of everything I say, that is going to be the only thing that's gonna be printed."
In our defense, we ran a story first on *Amsterdam Empire*.

Janssen starred as Jean first in 2000's *X-Men*, followed by *X2: X-Men United* (2003), *X-Men: The Last Stand* (2006), as a memory in *The Wolverine* (2013), and then finally a cameo in *X-Men: Days of Future Past* (2014). Ever since Marvel announced some of her costars from that movie era would be reprising their roles for next year's *Avengers: Doomsday* and enter the Disney-owned MCU franchise for the first time, the fans want to know if Janssen is following suit.
When asked if Marvel ever asked her to reprise Jean after that Fox era of movies, the actress replied, "Never. Never ever."

Speaking to how reporters keep asking her about it, she adds, "I should be flattered, I suppose, that this character has resonated with people. It's been so long, but it's nice that people are still talking about her. I'm sure every single time there's a new movie that they're doing, like [is it] *Doomsday*? ... it'll come up again."
So far, Patrick Stewart (Professor Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast) are the only actors from that era of *X-Men* movies confirmed to return to those characters in *Avengers: Doomsday*. The film brings Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. back to the MCU to play comic book supervillain Doctor Victor von Doom in a multiverse-crossing event movie.

Other former *X-Men* stars, however, previously popped over to the MCU in 2024's *Deadpool & Wolverine*, including Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson, Hugh Jackman's Logan, Dafne Keen's X23, Aaron Stanford's Pyro, and Tyler Mane's Sabretooth.**
The *Doomsday* cast also includes Channing Tatum's return as Gambit after portraying the character in *Deadpool & Wolverine*. The jury's still out on Reynolds' Mr. Pool.
The film is scheduled for theaters on Dec. 18.
