Country singer Tim McGraw opened up about how his health nearly forced him to slow down and walk away from performing.

"I've had four back surgeries and double knee replacements, just in the last couple of years," McGraw, 58, said during an October 25 concert in California, as seen in a video shared by Fox News Digital. "And my wife is going through quite a few surgeries—she's had five neck surgeries, and she's had a couple of hand surgeries."

The "My Best Friend" singer then introduced his knee surgeon, as well as wife Faith Hill's hand surgeon, to the crowd.

"After going through all of that for a couple of years and getting depressed over it and all those things, stuff not working right, this spring, before I had my final back surgery, things were getting really bad," he continued. "So I was seriously contemplating and figuring out how to walk away."

McGraw admitted he "didn't want to" say goodbye to his long, successful career, but he "didn't think that it was going to get better."

"But it's gotten better," he said.

He went on to explain that throughout that difficult time, he partnered with friend Tom Douglas to write a song called "King Rodeo," which he released earlier this year.
