Denise Richards' fans received only treats on Halloween from the reality star.

Richards, 54, paid homage to her Playboy past and rocked a black bodysuit with matching ears for a series of photos shared on social media.

The "Wild Things" actress added a pair of white cuffs and a black-and-white bow-tie collar to complete her costume, nearly 20 years after starring on the cover of Playboy magazine.

Richards first posed fully nude for the adult publication in December 2004, only five months after giving birth. She told Jay Leno that her parents and newborn accompanied her on the photo shoot to the Bahamas, where she knew she was in trouble when the stylist provided "no bottoms" for one of the shots.

Denise Richards' Ex, Aaron Phypers, Arrested In Court As Actress Fights For Restraining Order

Denise Richards stars as Jolene in SEX, LOVE & SECRETS on UPN.

"I said, you better find me some fricken bottoms. So she made these bottoms out of a shammy and used the leaves from the island," Richards said of one image wearing leaves fashioned into a top. "I didn't have to show anything I didn't want to."

She added, "Playboy approached me a couple other times and I didn't do it, and this time I figured I might as well do it before they never approach me again," she said. "He [Charlie Sheen] was really cool about it and helped me pick out the pictures."

The "Drop Dead Gorgeous" actress embraced the holiday ahead of her return to court on a request for a permanent restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star – who was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers on July 17 amid their ongoing divorce – testified last month against her estranged husband. Richards began crying while recalling multiple allegations of physical and emotional abuse, including a particularly violent event in May.

Richards claimed Phypers got "very volatile" with her at the Four Seasons hotel just hours after the reality TV star had undergone multiple cosmetic surgeries – including a face lift.

Phypers allegedly tried to search through Richards' devices while she was sleeping, and then allegedly hit her face and damaged a drain in the process.

"That is when I really, really knew that our marriage was over because there's been physical abuse, but it kept getting worse and worse," Richards testified. "But the fact that he did that to me five hours after coming out of a seven-hour surgery … made me feel a lot of things. Scared and vulnerable. I couldn't walk by myself."

Richards described one instance in which Phypers allegedly grabbed her by her arms while she was recovering from her surgeries.

Richards posed for Playboy only five months after giving birth to her first daughter with ex-husband Charlie Sheen.

Aaron Phypers filed for divorce from Denise Richards in July.

"He would yell and call me names. Once he found out I was texting another man, he would flip it and call me a cheating w---- and a c--- and a lying b---- and he would make it about that. And then he would calm down, and we would be in separate rooms, and he would come back at me and start arguing again."

"He grabbed my arms," she claimed. "I was three weeks out of a breast augmentation, lipo and the face lift. I was feeling extremely vulnerable and in pain. I asked him to please stay at the other house with his family. I needed to rest and heal and couldn't have him around me like that."

During a hearing last month, Phypers was handcuffed and arrested on spousal abuse charges. After sheriffs escorted Phypers out of the courtroom, officers returned to retrieve his cellphone.

Phypers filed for divorce from Richards on July 7. He cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking spousal support from the "Real Housewives" star. Ten days later, Richards' request for a temporary restraining order was granted.

"Throughout our relationship Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages," Richards claimed in the documents filed July 16.

Denise Richards petitioned the court in July for a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers.

"Aaron regularly threatened to 'break my jaw' and would cry, beg me to stay, and promise to get help – none of which ever happened. Aaron has caused me at least three concussions."

Phypers filed a petition Wednesday claiming he's out of money after Richards allegedly cut off access to their joint bank account and took away his holistic business equipment. He claimed Richards is preventing him from making a living.

"With regard to the OnlyFans page, the money that she receives from it is about $200,000 to $300,000 per month and that income is derived from photographs that I took and to which I hold the intellectual property rights," Phypers' petition, obtained by Fox News Digital, says.

"Therefore, it is our joint earnings and not hers alone. I request that I receive half of the OnlyFans income as a property control right."

According to Phypers, he's about to be evicted from his home and his utilities have already been shut off. He requested immediate access to $200,000.

Phypers also asked for additional spousal support on top of half of Richards' OnlyFans earnings.

PITTSBURGH — Almost everything the Indianapolis Colts tried early Sunday worked. Quarterback Daniel Jones was humming in the pocket and deep-threat wideout Alec Pierce was finding holes in Pittsburgh's Cover 2. The Colts even converted a fake punt from their own 25-yard line on the final play of the first quarter with a lead in hand.

Their lone gaffe to that point was a muffed punt return. But the Steelers failed to capitalize despite recovering it at the Indianapolis 11-yard line. Pittsburgh's offense netted 9 yards over 10 plays across its first three drives.

T.J. Watt flipped the script.

The sack artist willed himself past Colts right tackle Braden Smith, stripped Jones and recovered the fumble at the Steelers' 44-yard line. He made the type of play that's rewarded him with six All-Pro accolades and a three-year, $123 million extension this offseason.

He ignited a six-takeaway performance that restored Pittsburgh's defensive identity in a 27-20 victory on a day when the organization honored the 20th anniversary of its 2005 team that won Super Bowl XL.

[Get more Steelers news: Pittsburgh team feed]

The Steelers pumped the brakes on a Colts squad that didn't punt the first two games of the season and came into Week 9 posting a league-high 33.8 points per game as well as more points per drive (3.46) than any team in the past 25 years had averaged over the course of a full season, according to The Athletic.

After losing back-to-back games, and going three straight without a takeaway, Pittsburgh forced half a dozen turnovers, including five on defense, to quiet the noise around coordinator Teryl Austin and a unit that entered the weekend ranked 22nd in points per game allowed.

"That's probably one of the most disappointing things about the stretch we were on," Tomlin said of Pittsburgh's previous two-game skid. "We weren't taking the ball away. That's the lifeblood for us — not only as a defense but as a football team. It's a catalyst for how we engineer victory."

In 2008, when the Steelers won a Super Bowl in Tomlin's second season, they tied for ninth in takeaways. The '05 team tied for 11th in that department. The last Super Bowl team of Pittsburgh's 1970s dynasty finished the '79 campaign tied for eighth.

Watt's strip sack was the first black and gold defensive domino to fall in Acrisure Stadium. The night before, however, another perennial Pro Bowler lit a fuse.

Jalen Ramsey's challenge to Steelers

Aaron Rodgers invited reporters into the scene postgame. Jalen Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro defensive back the Steelers brought aboard this summer, addressed the team.

When Ramsey spoke up, "something kind of changed," according to Rodgers.

"He wanted us to play with that edge on defense," the 41-year-old quarterback recalled. "He didn't feel like we were doing that enough. And they played with an edge today, for sure."

Ramsey more than carried his weight, moving over to safety to help a Steelers team that lost DeShon Elliott to injury at the position and, as a result, traded for Kyle Dugger earlier in the week.

Dugger, as Tomlin said, "got on a moving train" and started at strong safety after arriving from New England. Ramsey started at free safety. Together, they allowed the Steelers to keep the Colts' potent attack at bay with a bunch of two-high looks.

"He's special," Dugger said of Ramsey afterward. "Just his intelligence and the way he was explaining things, helping me out there, communicating is bigger than his athleticism. He's a smart player."

Of course, Pittsburgh's defensive line standing strong against the run allowed Austin's group as a whole to succeed. The Steelers kept Indianapolis running back, and NFL MVP candidate, Jonathan Taylor to a season-low 45 rushing yards. Before Sunday, his 14 total touchdowns and 1,056 scrimmage yards were the talk of the league. He was mostly an afterthought in Pittsburgh.

The back-end messaging from Ramsey and Dugger assisted Pittsburgh in mostly handling the Colts' motion-heavy offense, a positive sign for a Steelers defense that was consistently caught adjusting late pre-snap during its consecutive losses.

Pittsburgh made Indianapolis one-dimensional, or, in cornerback Joey Porter Jr.'s words, they made "Daniel Jones be a quarterback."

Without a high-functioning run game, the Colts often found themselves off schedule. Then they faced pressure. That's when the Steelers' five sacks came into play.

Their six takeaways, though, were the lifeblood.

An initiation: 'That's how you become a Steeler'

Payton Wilson came flying in off the edge late in the third quarter. As soon as Jones wound up, Wilson elevated to meet the ball before it could reach wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

The Steelers' inside linebacker batted it with two hands like a volleyball player at the net, and outside linebacker Jack Sawyer collected the deflection for his first NFL interception.

Pittsburgh third-string quarterback Will Howard, who won a national title with Sawyer at Ohio State less than a year ago, saw a world in which Sawyer could have mirrored his 83-yard scoop-and-score against Texas that booked their trip to the College Football Playoff championship game.

"I was saying if Daniel wasn't right there, [Jack] probably would've had another moment like the Cotton Bowl," Howard told Yahoo Sports in the locker room.

This time, Sawyer was tackled right after he got his hands on the ball. He still celebrated in the end zone. And he was still part of the Steelers' forced turnover fantasia.

Wilson, who got his pick off Jones in the second quarter to help break a 7-7 tie, noted: "That's how you become a Steeler: Turnovers, big hits, big plays like that.

"And that's what everyone in this locker room wanted to get back to."

It's a rite of passage of sorts. In that way, Sawyer was initiated Sunday.

Primarily a special teamer this season, Sawyer's job is to make a lot happen in little time. Right now, his role on defense is to give Watt and Alex Highsmith breathers when the star pass rushers need them, and to make an impact while he's at it. He described the play he made against the Colts as "motivating."

"Growing up and watching the Steelers, you're watching some of the best outside linebackers, guys hitting dudes over the middle and just really playing that brand of football that you love to see," said Sawyer, who told Yahoo Sports that he grew up in Ohio with an appreciation for the "Steel Curtain-style of football" that originated one state over.

"I've seen that and felt that, and now I think it's starting to show."

Sawyer added: "I think it showed today."

NFL kicking has reached the point in which 60-yard field-goal attempts aren't that big of a deal.

Even a 68-yard try wasn't too much for the Jacksonville Jaguars and their kicker, Cam Little.

Near the end of the first half at the Las Vegas Raiders, Trevor Lawrence completed a pass over the middle and spiked the ball to stop the clock with four seconds left. The field-goal attempt would be 68 yards. There had never been a field goal longer than 66 made in an NFL game. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen wasn't fazed.

Little came on for the kick and not only did he make the 68-yarder, setting a new NFL record, but he had plenty of space to spare. It would have been good from 70 or maybe a little longer.

It was a huge play in the outcome of the game. The Jaguars won 30-29 in overtime — Little hit a 48-yard field goal in the final seconds of regulation to sent it to overtime — and they might not have been able to pull it out without Little's three-point bomb at the end of the first half.

Baltimore's Justin Tucker held the record with a 66-yard field goal to beat Detroit in 2021. Now there's a new standard.

One of the reasons the Jaguars were comfortable with Little trying a 68-yarder is they had seen him hit a longer one in a game situation. This preseason, Little nailed a 70-yarder. That didn't count for an official record, but it gave the Jaguars confidence that if they had a similar situation it wouldn't be crazy to let Little try it.

Little was a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 by the Jaguars, and he hit 93.1% of his field goals as a rookie. Now he has a piece of NFL history.

ACC issues public reprimand of Dabo Swinney for criticizing refs in Clemson's loss to Duke

The Atlantic Coast Conference has issued a public reprimand of Dabo Swinney for his postgame comments on the officiating in Clemson football's loss to Duke on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The Tigers were additionally given a $10,000 fine by the ACC for Swinney's comments in "direct violation" of the ACC Sportsmanship policy, according to the conference's news release. The fine is to be paid to the ACC's Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship account.

The punishment comes less than 24 hours after Swinney called out the officials in his postgame conference for giving Clemson a defensive pass interference penalty on fourth-and-10 on Duke's final drive of the game that led to an eventual game-winning touchdown and two-point conversion.

'THIS IS A LOW OF LOWS': Dabo Swinney's worst Clemson season continues in loss to Duke

The penalty was assessed to Avieon Terrell on an incomplete pass from Duke quarterback Darian Mensah to wide receiver Que'Sean Brown with 49 seconds remaining in the game. As noted by the Greenville News' Derrian Carter, Swinney believed a flag should've been thrown for offensive pass interference on Duke instead of defensive pass interference on Clemson.

"It shouldn't come down to that. We had plenty of opportunity to win the game, but that's one of the worst calls I've ever seen in my entire coaching career. Ever," Swinney said of the penalty on Nov. 1.

Here's a clip of the play:

This pass interference call cost Clemson the game. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/gw3qvo3yxF

— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) November 1, 2025

In its news release, the ACC mentioned Swinney's comments violated the conference's sportsmanship policy, which states: "Public criticism of officials or public comments evaluating the officiating of particular contests is not in the best interest of intercollegiate athletics. Individuals associated with the athletics program are prohibited, therefore, from commenting while acting in an official capacity on officiating other than directly to the Conference office."

As noted by the Greenville News, part of the USA TODAY Network, Clemson has now lost six consecutive home games against Power conference teams for the first time since the 1970-71 seasons and will finish with its worst home record and ACC record since 1999.

Up next for Swinney and Clemson will be a Week 11 home game against Florida State at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Memorial Stadium, where the Tigers will look to win back-to-back games against the Seminoles.

Daya Betty's roast of Ross Mathews might've landed with lukewarm reception from the *RuPaul's Drag Race* judges, but that doesn't mean she didn't at least *try* to turn up the heat with her originally planned set of jokes.

Appearing on the latest episode of EW's BINGE podcast, Daya reveals that she cut a few jokes from her routine during the comedy challenge, but promises that some of them remain too controversial to tell.

"I had a whole list of 'Ross Mathews is so gay' jokes. One I had that didn't make the cut was: Ross Mathews is so gay, his favorite moisturizer was Astroglide," Daya recalls, adding with a laugh that others didn't make it past the initial screening process for far more hilarious reasons. "The people in the room that were ok'ing [the jokes] were like, 'Nope, you can't stay that!' I'm not even going to say it here because it's probably way too inappropriate. There was plenty [of] crazier, more inappropriate jokes. I'll just say it was severely inappropriate and there was a reason it was not aired."

She says the challenge also wrapped with an impromptu set from Michelle Visage, which she says the queens thoroughly enjoyed. But, for most of them — including eliminated queen DeJa Skye, who left alongside Jorgeous after they lost a three-way lip-sync against Daya — the roast actually began in the Werk Room as the queens workshopped their material among the sisterhood.

"We kind of used each other as practice dummies. Especially DeJa. DeJa was the best at it. She'd sit down in her little corner and she'd yell out a joke randomly, and we'd all be like, thumbs up, thumbs down, and, let's be honest, they were pretty much all thumbs down," Daya remembers. "You saw the episode, I had some thumbs down myself. It turned into a collaborative effort. I personally was working on my jokes even after makeup. I was still finessing jokes."

She also says the fact that this is the first live reunion in years adds to the excitement factor: "This isn't a Zoom reunion, girl. No shade to the other seasons. They did what they had to do," she continues. "But we're back, live, sitting with each other and Ru, so it's going to be a lot of fun."

Angeria also teases something else might soon turn red-hot in the future: Her friendship with fellow season 14 finalist Lady Camden. After the adorable duo admitted there might be a mutual crush brewing in the Werk Room when they first laid eyes on each other during the premiere, Camden later promised to take her new friend to San Francisco's BDSM-centric Folsom Street Fair after Angeria's hilariously innocent reaction to finding out that it wasn't just, uh, a street carnival.

"I cannot confirm that this is a Brooke and Vanjie moment. Now, if we are *working* on a Brooke and Vanjie moment, that might be more of something. But, while the show is still going on, I know that myself and Lady for sure are trying to focus on everything when both of us have very busy schedules. Even if that was a thing, I don't think either one of us are able to handle anything that could blossom seriously," she says. "I think I can proudly say that both of us would be open to future possibilities when [we] have a little more of a handle on things. Right now, things are entirely too busy to be thinking about any kind of thing, so until then, she's going to take me to Folsom."

Earlier in the episode, Angeria's fellow RuGirl and friend (as well as former pageant competitor) Silky Nutmeg Ganache joined EW's *Quick Drag* Twitter Spaces to spill her thoughts on the upcoming season 14 finale, recounting how she felt heading into the season 11 finale back in 2019.

"I know each girl is heading into the finale with a different goal. For me, when I went into season 11, to the finale, I knew that I was not going to win season 11. I felt in my heart of hearts.... I didn't think I had a chance at all. My goal going into it was to look as beautiful as possible, and to lose with my grace and my dignity," Silky says, adding that she felt the fandom and perception from the show painted her in an unflattering light. "This season, with them having a top five, I can't even imagine what these girls are going in with. Is it going to be another lip-sync smackdown where they're lip-syncing against each other and it's dwindling? With a bigger cast, it's more stressful for them. If they have self-doubt on top of this stress, I think it's going to show. I hope that no girl feels that way or feel what I felt going into the finale."

Silky previously opened up to EW about the mistreatment she received in the industry (including losing paid gigs) after her time on season 11, which featured sustained depictions of her arguments with other queens — particularly Yvie Oddly, which she says didn't reflect the true reality of the situation.

"I will feel validated when I start to get the roles on television shows or I get my own reality show just like those judges said that I needed," she told EW after her show-stopping domination of the *All Stars 6* lip-sync smackdown, which saw her slay five consecutive lip-sync performances in one episode. "I'm grateful that the fans are doing what they're doing now, but I went back on *All Stars* to excel in my career. Now is the time where I'm hoping that all the people that said, 'We need to see you more,' actually put in the action and aren't afraid to back me up because of the feedback they think they'd get."

Straight Pride™ ended when Maddy Morphosis sashayed away from *RuPaul's Drag Race* season 14.

Though many fan-generated memes suggested otherwise, RuPaul's three-time Emmy-winning fashion mastermind Zaldy tells EW the *Drag Race *host's now-iconic patchwork dress from the April 8 "Catwalk" episode was not, in fact, a tribute to Maddy's affectionately derided, country-friend Glamazon Prime creation from episode 6.

"That's purely coincidence. There are two different things: Yes, it's the same kind of [aesthetic] muse, but that look for Ru, we always love a coat of many colors as a reference," Zaldy says on the new episode of EW's BINGE podcast above, adding that the final creation was actually an intricately crafted tapestry of several past looks RuPaul has worn over the years.

RuPaul's Drag Race

RuPaul's season 14 patch dress was not a tribute to Maddy Morphosis, says Zaldy. World of Wonder/VH1 (2)

"We created it because, every now and again, I save so many of the scraps of things we use for Ru outfits because I think they're just so beautiful," Zaldy continues, noting that there are pieces of Ru's favorite dress — the pink and orange leopard number remixed by Shea Couleé on last week's *All Stars 7* episode — spread throughout the design. "That one, if you look closely, does have these sacred pieces of the hand-painted leopard [dress] in that look. That look is very designed. It has gradating diamond patterns that get smaller toward the top. It's very involved. It's not [just] a patchwork thrown together."

Zaldy, who's worked with RuPaul for decades, also revealed that Shea's *All Stars 7* recreation shook him the hardest, with her hand-crafted "gradation of the scale of the spots" giving him "goosebumps" as he watched her re-design RuPaul's favorite look of all time.

As for the rest of the all-winners cast, who were also tasked with re-interpreting famous RuPaul looks, Zaldy commended them for not simply remixing the clothes, but tailoring them to fit their personal aesthetics.

"If I'm going for who was the most glamorous vision, it was definitely Jaida [Essence Hall]," he observes. "When she came out with that little, tiny mini fur and tied it back to a Diana Ross hairstyle, it was just an incredible, visually stunning look. So was Trinity [The Tuck's], this outrageous head-to-toe look. Everybody really had a moment. I was really impressed with their thought process and their interpretation. Everybody did something I was really touched by."

Though he steers the ship when it comes to RuPaul's closet, he clarifies with a laugh that he isn't the one who put RuPaul in flip-flops and a tracksuit for the Fairytale Justice challenge several episodes ago.

"Ru likes to play, too," he says. "Ru loves fashion, and Ru plays. She loves it. That's 100 percent Ru.... I don't put anybody in flip-flops!"

Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster accidentally went a little method while filming *The Silence of the Lambs*.

Don't worry, the duo didn't get up to anything too nefarious on the set of the iconic 1991 thriller, but much like their characters Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling, the actors had some trepidation about the person on the other side of the glass. Hopkins recounted his unusual relationship with costar Jodie Foster — and his immediate connection to Hannibal Lecter — in his new book,* We Did OK, Kid: A Memoir*, shared an excerpt by* The Sunday Times*.

"I knew the character instantly. I instinctively sensed how to play Hannibal," Hopkins wrote of the iconic villain. "I have the devil in me. We all have the devil in us. I know what scares people."

When the time came for the first table read, Hopkins leaned into those devilish instincts. Unfortunately, he "didn't get a chance" to chat with Foster beforehand, so her very first impression of him was in character, embracing the personality of the fictional serial killer.

"We just flew right into it," Hopkins recalled. "I wanted to show what I could do, so I was as scary as I could be. You could have heard a pin drop in the room. A couple of seconds after I started to speak as Lecter, I saw Jodie grow tense."

The thriller, based on Thomas Harris's 1988 bestseller, sees Hopkins play brilliant psychiatrist and psychotic cannibal Hannibal Lecter, who has been locked up in an institution for the criminally insane. That's where FBI trainee Clarice comes in, visiting the institution to interview Lecter in the hopes of gaining insight into another serial killer known as Buffalo Bill.

"[Foster and I] mostly kept away from each other," Hopkins wrote. "Then, on our last day of shooting, we had lunch. It was freezing cold in Pittsburgh. Jodie put down her sandwich and said she had to confess something: she'd been scared of me."

Hopkins replied that he was scared of her, too, and the duo laughed it off.

"We had a big hug, and we both admitted to feeling a strange sense of distance during the shoot, due no doubt to the power of that script, which had us playing a cat-and-mouse game," he recalled. "Since then, we've always greeted each other with great warmth."

All of that terrifying energy paid off in the end. *The Silence of the Lambs *was a sleeper hit, grossing more than $270 million worldwide and winning big at the Academy Awards. It remains the only horror film to have won Best Picture, and also snagged Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor for Hopkins, and Best Actress for Foster.

As for Foster's side of the story, she previously discussed being afraid of Hopkins during a 2019 Masterclass at SXSW, explaining that many of the techniques used by director Jonathan Demme enhanced the fear that they felt of one another.

"The movie didn't scare me, but Anthony Hopkins scared me," Foster shared. "You'll notice, if you look at the movie again...instead of the person looking at the person off-screen, that the actors are actually looking down the lens. And that means I am there, but way behind the camera, and I'm just a voice; he can't see me. And the same is true on my side."

She continued, "So when I'm doing scenes with Dr. Lecter, I just hear this disembodied, scary voice, but I don't actually see his face. I have to look into the camera and pretend that he's in the camera."

Foster also pointed out that they were kept physically apart by the set design, explaining that it took 20 minutes to get Hopkins in and out of the complicated bars-and-glass setup protecting Clarice from Hannibal. Fans of the movie know that those bars could hold Hannibal back for only so long, as well.**

George Clooney is slamming Hunter Biden for voicing "outright lies" in his expletive-filled rant attacking the actor for his 2024 presidential election op-ed.

Earlier this year, Hunter made headlines for angrily calling out Clooney's *New York Times* op-ed titled, "I Love Joe Biden, but We Need a New Nominee," which called for his father Joe Biden to drop out of last year's presidential race. Hunter defended his dad and directed a "f--- you" at Clooney several times in an interview published roughly a year after the consequential essay.

Addressing Hunter's comments during a recent chat with CBS' *Sunday Mornings* that aired Nov. 2, Clooney made it clear that he has no intention of going back and forth with Hunter on the subject.

"I could spend a lot of time debunking many of the things he said because many of the things he said were just outright lies," Clooney told the outlet. "Obama didn't put me up to it, it wasn't my fundraiser, it was my fundraiser — all the things. But the reality is I don't think looking backwards like that is helpful to anyone, particularly to him."

He continued, "I don't think it's helpful for the Democratic party, and so I'm just gonna wish him well on his ongoing recovery and I hope he does well and just leave it at that. I have many personal opinions about it, but I don't find it to be helpful to have a public spat with him."

Elsewhere in the conversation, Clooney shared his thoughts on the decision to appoint Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, pointing out that he suggested an open primary in his 2024 op-ed.

"I think the mistake with it being Kamala is she had to run against her own record," Clooney explained. "It's very hard to do if the point of running is to say, 'I'm not that person.' It's hard to do, and so she was given a very tough task. I think it was a mistake, quite honestly. But, we are where we are. We were gonna lose more House seats, they say. So, I don't know."

Last year, the Oscar-winning actor and producer was one of several political and Hollywood figures who called for President Biden to end his re-election bid. Like others, Clooney pointed to Biden's much maligned performance at a June 27 debate. But he also called upon his longtime friendship with the politician and recalled a fundraiser run-in that made him concerned about Biden's ability to win the election and serve another presidential term.

"It's devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe 'big F---ing deal' Biden of 2010," Clooney wrote in his essay. "He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate."

Hunter suggested in his explosive July interview that "Obama people" gave Clooney "the blessing" to write the Times op-ed and additionally argued that Clooney mischaracterized the fundraiser encounter.

"F--- him! F--- him and everybody around him," Hunter told Channel 5's Andrew Callaghan of Clooney's op-ed. "I don't have to be f---ing nice. No. 1, I agree with Quentin Tarantino. F---ing George Clooney is not a f---ing actor. He is f---ing like...I don't know what he is. He's a brand."

***Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.***

Hunter continued, "What do you have to do with f---ing anything? Why do I have to f---ing listen to you? What right do you have to step on a man who's given 52 years of his f---ing life to the service of this country and decide that you, George Clooney, are going to take out basically a full page ad in the f---ing *New York Times* to undermine the president?"

Clooney has shared no regrets about his decision to pen the op-ed, telling CNN that it was his "civic duty" to speak out. "You have to take your stand if you believe in it," he said in April. "Take a stand, stand for it and then deal with the consequences. That's the rules, so when people criticize me — they criticized me for my stance against the war 20 years ago, people picketed my movies, and they put me on a deck of cards — I have to take that, that's fair. I'm okay with that, I'm okay with criticism for where I stand. I defend their right to criticize me as much as I defend my right to criticize them."**

1 / 25From 'Die My Love' to 'Hunger Games', see Jennifer Lawrence's career in the spotlight

Since Jennifer Lawrence's breakthrough role in 2010's "Winter's Bone," the actress has catapulted from an indie darling to a big-budget, big-accolades starlet. Scroll through to see the "Hunger Games" star's career in the spotlight and on the red carpet in photos, beginning here for the movie "Die My Love" during the 20th International Rome Film Festival in Rome on Oct. 20, 2025.

Jennifer Lawrence is rethinking her approach to discussing her political views.

While speaking on The New York Times' "The Interview" podcast, the "Die My Love" star, who has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump for years, questioned whether she should continue to share her political opinions going forward.

"I don't really know if I should," Lawrence said on the Nov. 1 episode. "We've learned election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. And so then what am I doing? I'm just sharing my opinion on something that's going to just add fuel to a fire that's ripping the country apart. I mean, we are so divided."

The Oscar-winning star, 35, went on to say she is "in a complicated recalibration" and doesn't want people to avoid her work because they disagree with her politically.

Jennifer Lawrence on her politics: 'I would like to clarify my voting record'

Jennifer Lawrence attends the premiere of "Die My Love" at AMC Lincoln Square Theater on Nov. 1, 2025, in New York City.

"I don't want to start turning people off to films and to art that could change consciousness or change the world because they don't like my political opinions," she said. "If I can't say something that's going to speak to some kind of peace or lowering the temperature, or some sort of solution, I just don't want to be a part of the problem. I don't want to make the problem worse."

While she may be less politically outspoken in the future, Lawrence noted she will continue expressing her politics through her work, telling the NYT, "A lot of my movies coming out from my production company are expressions of the political landscape. That's how I feel like I can be helpful."

Lawrence grew up in a Republican family and has said she voted for John McCain for president in 2008 before she began to identify as a Democrat. "Through Obama's presidency, and growing up to realize I was voting against my own rights, I am proud to say I am a Democrat," she said in 2020.

In 2015, she told Entertainment Weekly, "If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world."

She supported Joe Biden for president in 2020 and told V Magazine, "Donald Trump has and will continue to put himself before the safety and well-being of America. He does not represent my values as an American, and most importantly as a human being."

Jennifer Lawrence on ChatGPT: The star recounts tearful moment amid postpartum anxiety

Jennifer Lawrence receives the Donostia lifetime achievement award during the 73rd San Sebastian International Film Festival on Sept. 26, 2025.

In 2022, the "Silver Linings Playbook" star criticized people who "aren't political" while speaking to Vogue. "You live in the United States of America," she said at the time. "You have to be political. It's too dire. Politics are killing people."

Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Lawrence endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, telling People, "She's an amazing candidate and I know that she will do whatever she can to protect reproductive rights."

On the "Interview" podcast, Lawrence also reflected on why Trump's second term "feels different" from his first. "He said what he was going to do," she said. "We knew what he did for four years. He was very clear. And that's what we chose, again."

Lawrence is promoting her Oscar hopeful "Die My Love," in which she stars as a young mother opposite Robert Pattinson. The film, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival, marks the first movie role for Lawrence since her 2023 comedy "No Hard Feelings." She has earned acclaim, and early Oscar buzz, for the performance.
