TheOne Battle After Anotherstar walked the red carpet solo but made it a milestone evening by bringing his longtime girlfriend,Vittoria Ceretti, as his date. Ceretti joined him inside the ceremony in a red gown, marking their first Oscars appearance as a couple.

DiCaprio and Ceretti had never attended a U.S. awards show together before last night. The actor has made a point of keeping his relationships out of the spotlight.
In December, he explained his approach to protecting his privacy while navigating life as a public figure toTime, describing it as "a balance I've been managing my whole adult life—and still I'm not an expert. I think my simple philosophy is only get out there and do something when you have something to say, or you have something to show for it. Otherwise, just disappear as much as you possibly can."
He adopted this mentality back during hisTitanicdays as he got used to fame and the overwhelming attention. "I was like, OK, how do I have a long career?" he recalled asking himself. "Because I love what I do, and I feel like the best way to have a long career is to get out of people's face."
