"Grey's Anatomy" Fans Are "Just "Realizing This Fun Fact About the Series That Affects All but 1 Episode

Craig Sjodin/Disney General Entertainment Content via Gett Grey's Anatomyhas named every one of its episodes, except for one, after a song Some fans are only just discovering these musical Easter eggs after 21 seasons One wrote, "Omg how have I not known this till now" Little did many fans know,Grey's Anatomyhas taken viewers on a musical journey across 21 seasons. The long-running medical drama series, which premiered in 2005, has named every one of its episodes — save for one — after a song, beginning with the pilot, titled "A Hard Day's Night" after the 1964 Beatles classic. One superfan even curated aSpotify playlistfeaturing the songs used in the titles. But some viewers are just finding out about the hidden Easter eggs after all these years. "Did you know that every singleGrey's Anatomyepisode is linked to a song?" one person wrote on social media, prompting another to reply, "Oh interesting. I didn't realize." Another commented: "Omg how have I not known this till now." Richard Cartwright/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty The show's episode titles have spanned many popular musical eras, from the '50s (The Platters' "The Great Pretender") and the '80s (Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors") to more recent hits such asDua Lipa's "Hotter Than Hell" andHarry Styles'"Sign of the Times." The latest episode, which aired on Thursday, May 8, was titled "Love You Like a Love Song" (bySelena Gomezand The Scene). The onlyGrey's Anatomyepisode that was not named after a song is season 14's "1-800-799-7233," which is the U.S. domestic abuse hotline. In the episode, character Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) is forced to face her abusive ex-husband when he unexpectedly shows up at the hospital. Grey's Anatomyhas famously celebrated music in other ways, too. One of the show's most memorable — and divisive — episodes, season 7's "Song Beneath the Song," saw the cast of surgeons singing their way through their scenes å la a Broadway musical. But at the time, some fans found the singing jarring against the emotional and traumatic storyline unfolding. A pregnant Callie Torres (Sara Ramírez) and wife Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) were involved in a serious car collision, just moments after getting married. Karen Neal/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty The show also has a habit of using certain songs to foreshadow particularly tragic moments. For instance, when viewers hear the often-played tracks "How to Save a Life" (The Fray) and "Chasing Cars" (Snow Patrol), it's probably time to pull out the tissues. Back in 2017, show creatorShonda Rhimesspoke toBillboardabout the show's musical choices. Asked when she knows a song is perfect for a particular scene, she said, "If you can just drop a song over a scene without doing anything to it and it feels right, you're there." The TV mogul, 55, also touched on the power of music in amplifying the emotion of a story. "I always feel like when someone can't tell you what their show is supposed to sound like musically, they're in trouble because that's the other piece of storytelling to me," she told the outlet. The best celebrity prom photos, from George Clooney to Margot RobbieNew Foto - The best celebrity prom photos, from George Clooney to Margot Robbie

Michael Buckner/Getty; Neil P. Mockford/Getty; Gilbert Flores/Getty A night to remember, for sure. Before rising to fame, plenty of the celebrities we now see as untouchable were sporting corsages and boutonnieres to attend their high school prom. We've dug up some of the most notable prom photos from our favorite stars, and, while it's not too much of a shock to see them in spiffy tuxes and dresses, the various hairstyles are a sight to behold compared to their public image all these years later. So, what didGeorge Clooney,Amy Poehler,Margot Robbie,Bradley Cooper, and more look like on the most glamorous night of their high school days? Take this stroll down memory lane. FutureWhen Harry Met SallystarMeg Ryanwas starry-eyed as she gazed up at her handsome date at her 1979 high school prom. Notice her flowing hair that makes her look destined for movie stardom. Looks like the ladies have always loved the Cloon. The Oscar winner returned to his hometown in 2014,reconnected with prom date Laurie Laycock Bachand even played basketball with her son. Somebody was the life of the party. At his 1994 prom,Ashton Kutcherwas busting a move like nobody's business, unaware he would be catapulted to celebrity status as one of the stars ofThat '70s Showa mere four years later. We have a feeling that Amy Poehler was the life of the party at her prom, too. The futureSaturday Night Livealum had a distinctly '80s high school look at her 1989 prom. Say cheese! (Please?) Back in 1980,Wesley Snipesstruck a rather serious pose with his prom date. He made his screen debut only six years later in the sports comedyWildcats(1986). Margot Robbie proudly rocked jet-black hair and a big smile with her girlfriends at her prom. The star, now known for moreBarbie-blonde locks, would soon book a starring role on the Australian soap operaNeighbours. A baby-faced Bradley Cooper was ready for the big night in a snazzy tux at his 1993 senior prom. Who could have guessed he would be a multi-Oscar nominee in a few decades? He may not have been named prom king, but, as one of the princes of late-night TV, it's safe to saySeth Meyerscame out on top. The comedian joined the cast ofSNLabout 10 years later. The Oscar winner looked elegant as ever while being named prom queen. However, the crown didn't come easy.As Berry recalled to PEOPLE in 1996, some of her classmates raised a stink when she won the title. "I felt like I was accepted there until it came to being prom queen," she said. "It took me a long time to get over it." No, that's not a bride and groom looking somber on their wedding night — that'sJohn Goodmanand his prom date. He would soon get a football scholarship, though a torn ACL led him to pursue a career as an actor, and the rest is history. It's no surprise thatFergieearned a spot on her high school's 1993 senior prom court. She was already a seasoned pro by then, having starred onKids Incorporatedfrom 1984 to 1989. John Legend's big smile may have something to do with the fact that the then 16-year-old high school senior was named prom king. Decades later, he would become the rare artist to earn the fullEGOT(Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). Looks like even on prom night in 2001, someone knewCarrie Underwoodwas astar. Four years later, she was the fourth-everAmerican Idol. Jim Parsonsheld on to his friends for dear life while posing for his prom photos in the early-'90s. He would soon study theater at college and landed his career-defining role onThe Big Bang Theoryin 2007. Read the original article onEntertainment Weekly

Turkish student freed after 6 weeks in ICE custody has 'faith' in US judicial systemNew Foto - Turkish student freed after 6 weeks in ICE custody has 'faith' in US judicial system

A Turkish student seized by masked, plainclothes Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on a street near her home outside Boston was back at Tufts University on Sunday after spending over six weeksat an immigration detention center in Louisiana. Rumeysa Ozturk, who hadspoken out against the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, was arrested March 25 after the State Department revoked her student visa. A judge ordered her immediately released on Friday. "America is the best democracy in the world, and I believe in those values we share," she told reporters Saturday. "I have faith in the American system of justice." The Trump administration has stepped up a campaign to deport pro-Palestinian campus activists. Ozturk, 30, was arrested after co-writing an opinion piece criticizing the university's response to calls by students to divest from companies with ties to Israel and to "acknowledge the Palestinian genocide." A closer look:Tufts student details conditions in immigration facility: Document A senior Department of Homeland Security spokespersontold USA TODAYafter Ozturk was taken into custody that a visa is a "privilege, not a right." The spokesperson, who declined to be identified, said "glorifying and supporting terrorists who kill Americans" is grounds to terminate a visa, calling it "common-sense security." While in detention, Ozturkwrote aboutthe "inhumane" and unsafe conditions. She says she had limited access to food, had to wait hours for toilet paper and didn't getting proper treatment for her asthma at the ICE facility in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. After her release, Ozturk thanked the professors, students and "so many lovely people" who sent her letters of encouragement. "Please don't forget all the wonderful women in the immigration detention systems," she said. "I was so tired of witnessing cries and pain that can all be preventable." Mudassar Toppa, staff attorney at CLEAR, a legal non-profit aiding Ozturk's defense, said the former Fulbright Scholar "should not have spent even one minute incarcerated." "Make no mistake, the government tried to punish Ms. Ozturk for lending her pen to advocacy for Palestinian human rights," Toppa said. "The court's decision ... is not only a victory for Ms. Ozturk, but everyone who wishes to advocate for Palestinian human rights without fear of retaliation." Bomb targeting a vehicle carrying police killed 2 officers in northwest PakistanNew Foto - Bomb targeting a vehicle carrying police killed 2 officers in northwest Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A powerful bomb exploded near a vehicle carrying police officers in northwesternPakistanon Sunday, killing at least two officers and injuring three others, police said. The attack happened near a roadside open market in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a local police chief, Masood Khan, said. He said the dead and wounded were transported to a nearby hospital. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion is likely to fall on the Pakistani Taliban, alsoknown as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, who often target security forces and civilians. TTP is a separate group but a close ally of the Afghan Taliban, who seized power in neighboring Afghanistan in August 2021. Many TTP leaders and fighters have found sanctuaries and have even been living openly in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover, which also emboldened the Pakistani Taliban.

MOSCOW – RussianPresident Vladimir Putinon Sunday proposed direct talks with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul that he said should be aimed at achieving a durable peace and eliminating the root causes of the war. Zelenskyy said he would meet Putin face to face. Putin sent thousands of troops into Ukraine in February 2022, triggering thegravest confrontationbetween Russia and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. More:Ukraine, European leaders agree to unconditional 30-day ceasefire in war with Russia He said that Russia was proposing direct talks with Ukraine in Istanbul in an attempt to "eliminate the root causes of the conflict" and "to achieve the restoration of a long-term, lasting peace." "It was not Russia that broke off negotiations in 2022. It was Kyiv. Nevertheless, we are proposing that Kyiv resume direct negotiations without any preconditions," Putin said, referring to failed talks shortly after the Russian invasion of 2022. "We offer the Kyiv authorities to resume negotiations already on Thursday, in Istanbul," Putin said. "Our proposal, as they say, is on the table, the decision is now up to the Ukrainian authorities and their curators, who are guided, it seems, by their personal political ambitions, and not by the interests of their peoples." MajorEuropean powersthrew their weight behind an unconditional 30-day Ukraine ceasefire on Saturday, with the backing of PresidentDonald Trump, and threatenedPutinwith "massive" new sanctions if he did not accept within days. More:War in Ukraine rages on as Putin's 3-day ceasefire nears: updates in maps Trump, who says he wants to be remembered as a peacemaker, has repeatedly said he wants to end the "bloodbath" of the Ukraine war, which his administration casts as a proxy war between the United States and Russia. Former PresidentJoe Biden, Western European leaders and Ukraine cast the invasion as an imperial-style land grab and repeatedly vowed to defeat Russian forces. Putin casts the war as a watershed moment in Moscow's relations with the West, which he says humiliated Russia after the Soviet Union fell in 1991 by enlarging NATO and encroaching on what he considers Moscow's sphere of influence, including Ukraine.
