Selman surrendered herself to deputies earlier this month in Anderson County – situated 114 miles southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina – reported NBC-affIliate WYFF.

She faces one charge of breach of belief with fraudulent intent, valued at $10,000 or more, and has since bonded out of jail.

Detectives met with William Gray, the president of the Overlook Householders Affiliation, in January after he observed money was missing from the association's account.

Grey observed the purple flag costs when making an attempt to offer one other employee entry to the account, in response to deputies.

He described the sum of money missing from the stability as "monumental."

He stated that Selman, who labored for the affiliation for 10 years, had used the funds to purchase subscriptions for "every little thing you possibly can probably consider."

That's when Grey contacted the Anderson County Sheriff's Workplace.

"We have been type of stunned by all the totally different fees we have been seeing," Shale Remien, a spokesperson for the Anderson County Sheriff's Workplace, informed WYFF.

Documents and bank statements verified the miscellaneous fees made to the account.

Over five years, Selman stole a total of $209,951.83, deputies revealed.

That included over 160 transactions from retailers, utility corporations, insurance coverage suppliers, and on-line clothes subscriptions.

"Corporations typically to no fault of their own blindly trust staff who've been there for an extended time period but what we need to say to that is don't let your guard down," Remien stated.

"So, every little thing from Netflix to Stitch Fix, which is, should you don't know, a subscription to a clothing firm, Hulu, retailers, utility corporations, Duke Power," Remien stated.

"They belief those staff to take their money and use it appropriately, and clearly, that was not finished right here," Remien stated.

Brendan Dennison recalled meeting Selman several occasions through the years whereas dropping an worker off locally.

"Individuals like me, like, I rise up early in the morning," stated Dennison, who works as a roofer.

"I'm going to work day-after-day, and half the time, it's just to make ends meet.

"The fact that she will come somewhere like here and steal just to pay a subscription she doesn't even want when some of us are working 80 hours every week, 70 hours every week simply to offer, it's just insane."

Gray stated he couldn't comment on the matter on the advice of his attorneys.

Selman's lawyer did not reply to WYFF's requests for remark.
