"I observed I misplaced it," he advised native ABC affiliate WLS-TV.

Conway claimed that the scammers had deposited pretend checks in an ATM before withdrawing hundreds of dollars from his account.

The victim added that he was left to cope with the bounced verify charges, beginning a serious battle between him and Chase.

"I received a call again from Chase saying, 'can't show that is fraud, sorry.' So I went to the police division that weekend," Conway stated.

With nowhere to show, he filed a police report with the Midlothian Police Division in Chicago for fraudulent exercise.

Whereas the bank initially closed the case, they reopened it in 2020 as soon as the station sent over the police report and his ATM account statements.
