COSTCO employees have sparked rumors that they get secret pizzas off the food court menu.

Members can score the specialty pizzas too, but in a different way than the employees.

Costco employees on Reddit shared how members can score the secret off-menu pizzas that are given to workers[/caption]

Costco is known for its incredibly cheap food court deals, including a huge pizza slice for $1.99 or a whole 18-inch pizza for $9.95.

In search of food court secrets, one Costco shopper looked to Reddit to probe the employees.

"Secret pizza orders?? Employees what do you know," they wrote, noting that they had overheard two cashiers discussing a Hawaiian-style pizza made from ingredients that employees brought from the warehouse floor.

"That seems way off-menu," added the hesitant user.

Several Costco employees flooded the comments to clarify that the specialty pizzas were reserved for employees.

"Sometimes as a thank you our managers will buy stuff off the floor to put on pizzas and will have the food court make us specialty pizzas all day to be put in the break room," reads one comment.

"But it's not for members. If you want a special pizza, buy one and take it home and dress it up yourself," they clarified.

Another employee suggested that the workers would get specialty pizzas in the breakroom the day after they passed a corporate inspection.

They noted that every Costco is different and that some managers allow employees to order Hawaiian pizza from the food court.

A food court worker also chimed in, confirming that off-menu pizzas are sometimes made for employees.

"But please do not bother your local food court with special pizza requests," they pleaded.

COSTCO CRACKS DOWN

The Costco food court has recently undergone a change that has fans upset.

The retailer is cracking down on the rules, now requiring that customers present their membership cards at the food court.

The rule seemingly varies by location, but has reportedly been enforced at warehouses in Orlando, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana.

At both locations, shoppers were greeted with a sign informing them membership would be required to purchase food court items.

An Orlando Costco shopper shared an image of the sign to the Costco subreddit. It reads: "Effective April 8, 2024, an active Costco membership card will be required to purchase items from our food court.

"You can join today. Please see our membership counter for details."

Although Costco has cracked down on food court rules, the big box retailer remains lenient on its return policy.

Shoppers were "dumbfounded" as the store gives a $400 refund for a 2-year gym membership despite there being only 2 months left.

Plus, Costco fans were left "baffled" as a shopper returns an entire box of frozen food – and it was the customer's fault.
