A SHOPPER hit the thrifting jackpot when they scored luxurious lamps for cheap.
They paid only $12.99 for furnishings worth thousands because of the artist who made them.

Thrift stores are home to countless used items, but with a little digging, many people have found a diamond in the rough.
This was the case for one lucky shopper, who scored big while perusing the aisles of a discount store.
They shared their sweet find in the r/Antiques subreddit in a post about valuable items people have found at Goodwill.
"Emile Galle lamps for $12.99. His first work. Pre-stained glass. Worth 1200 dollars," they wrote.
Another Redditor was shocked at the thrifter's luck.
"Holy crap… Your heart must have stopped when you saw it," they commented.

The original user shared that they weren't initially aware of how valuable their find was.
"I just saw these beautiful French cherub lamps. They were originally candelabras. And I noticed the base didn't look original. That's when I saw the signature," they wrote.
Their thrifted finds featured the signature of Emile Galle, a French artist and designer who experimented with glasswork.
He was a key figure in the Art Nouveau movement and was best known for his innovative techniques in glassmaking.

He would create exquisite pieces featuring natural motifs such as flowers, plants, and insects.
THRIFTED TREASURE
Many Redditors flooded the same post with comments about their shocking thrift finds.
One user found a huge Persian rug from the Salvation Army measuring 10 feet by 13 feet.
"She's a beaut. The price tag was a hefty $170, but considering she's worth $2k easy, we snatched her up," they shared.
Another thrifter scored an Italian knit luxury cashmere sweater for only $20 and shared that its true value was a whopping $1,200.
A third shopper came upon a first edition of the Fellowship of the Rings book, worth $5,600.

Others accidentally stumbled upon valuable items, found inside their thrift store purchases.
One Redditor claimed to have found a gold bracelet in a $15 winter coat, while another said they found a diamond in a purse they purchased.
In other thrifting news, a shopper thrifted a pair of sneakers for $27 – "it was a gamble" but a name on the box convinced them to buy.
Plus, a shopper found a worn-out book in the Goodwill bin for 37 cents – in worse condition, it's worth $1,200.
