ATHLETES drafted into the NFL will soon be moving to new homes, and it could cost you millions to live near them.
The NFL draft kicked off on Thursday night, awarding many players a spot in the league.

Athletes could be buying new homes in some of the country's top markets, according to Realtor.com.
This includes quarterback Caleb Williams, who was selected as the first overall pick by the Chicago Bears.
The Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Chargers made the rest of the top five picks.
CHICAGO
Rookies heading to the Bears are looking at a median listing price of $374,900.
Luckily, the city had 11,333 houses for sale in March 2024, so there is plenty to choose from.
WASHINGTON DC
Fellow quarterback Jayden Daniels was drafted by the Commanders as the second pick.
Last month in DC, there were only 6,335 homes for sale, and the median listing price was a whopping $604,300.

The New England Patriots also drafted a quarterback, picking Drake Maye.
Boston is just over an hour away from Foxborough, where the Patriots play at Gillette Stadium.
The city only had 3,737 homes for sale in March, with a median listing price of $879,950.
PHOENIX
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was selected by the Arizona Cardinals.
He'll play at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, which is just 20 minutes from Phoenix.
In March, there were 13,407 homes for sale and a median listing price of $534,900.
LOS ANGELES
LA is the priciest city on the list, with a median home listing price of $1.15 million.
There were 9,736 homes for sale in March, giving offensive tackle Joe Alt a nice variety if he makes the move.

ANOTHER OPTION
A career in the NFL can be unpredictable, so rookies may want to consider renting rather than laying down roots somewhere.
According to a study by Realtor.com, this past February marked the seventh year-over-year rent decrease for zero—to two-bedroom properties.
The report also found that renters in 29 of the 50 largest metropolitan areas, including Memphis, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas, saw prices fall.
The top five metros experiencing rent decreases and their average rental costs for February:
- Memphis, TN – $1,251 with a 5% drop
- Austin, TX – $1,530 with a 4.4% drop
- Atlanta, GA – $1,613 with a 4.1% drop
- Nashville, TN – $1,589 with a 4.1% drop
- St. Louis, MO – $1,300 with a 3.9%
"Rents have come down, in general, because there is more inventory due to the addition of new apartment communities, sellers turning into renters, and homes that were purchased for investment in the last three years," said real estate broker Brad Pauly, of Pauly Presley Realty
He explained that new apartments, higher interest rates, and more investors are the main drivers behind increased supply.
An expert at Realtor.com also revealed the top nine most affordable cities for retirees, where homes start at just $110,000.
