In a sensational development between the two Premier League rivals, it has been widely reported on Saturday that Newcastle offered their star winger to the Merseyside club. Liverpool were approached by Newcastle this week with a proposal to sign former Everton star Gordon in a move that would have seen centre-half Quansah head to St James' Park in the other direction.
