Bowman is seeking a restraining order against Madden, 46, in new documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, July 30. The documents note that the musician is currently in a rehabilitation facility. A judge granted a temporary restraining order, effective until a court date scheduled for Aug. 20. The restraining order also covers their two huskies, Toast and Jam. Bowman and Madden do not have children. The documents obtained by PEOPLE indicate the date of the alleged physical assault was July 21. Dave J Hogan/Getty Bowman claimed that on July 21, she received a message from a teenage girl alerting her to Madden's alleged sexts with her. "I was extremely hurt and disturbed. I needed to understand what was going on between them," Bowman's statement read. Bowman then described the alleged incident of assault in detail. "When he denied it, I asked him to hand me his phone," she wrote. "He would not hand me his phone, but I could see that he was quickly deleting the evidence from his phone." After grabbing the phone and running out of the house, Bowman alleged that Madden "became enraged." "He put both his arms around my body around my abdomen and arms to restrain me. He then slammed my body against the marble kitchen counter. I felt pain in my hip and waist area. He shoved me to the ground and was out of his mind. I landed on my knees. He kept screaming for me to give him the phone. He appeared literally insane to me. I had never seen such uncontrollable anger and a completely different person," Bowman's filing alleged. The documents also allege that another incident of abuse took place on May 14. "He physically abused me. Extreme emotional harm. I'm now terrified of him," Bowman wrote. https://people-app.onelink.me/HNIa/kz7l4cuf In screenshotted text messages submitted in the request for a restraining order, Madden allegedly referred to the sexting as "A private and fake harmless fantasy" that had "No bearing on real life at all." In the alleged text messages, Bowman wrote, "Mickey. I do not know the man who hires 18 year old prostitutes to text them about wanting to be their stepdad and rape them while we are on our honeymoon." Bowman then appeared to allude via text that she similarly experienced an abusive relationship with an older man as a teenager. Madden allegedly responded, "I am beyond sorry for my actions and for engaging in any form of expression of those impulses..it's all completely unacceptable. but I have to draw the line at that characterization of what I did ..This was entirely relegated to text..It's not excusable by any means but I have to make it clear that I would never act on any of that consensual fantasy talk." In the documents obtained by PEOPLE, Bowman also alleged that Madden "withheld" sex from her after she expressed a desire to conceive a child together, and instead began sleeping with a "prostitute." Madden left Maroon 5 in 2020,two weeks after an alleged incident of domestic violence. In June 2020, he was arrested on a felony charge in Los Angeles, according tojail records. He was released on the same day after posting his $50,000 bond. In 2016, Maddenwas arrested for cocaine possession in New York City. HGTV canceled multiple shows this summer. Here's what we know.New Foto - HGTV canceled multiple shows this summer. Here's what we know.

HGTV has come for some of your favorite renovation shows. The Warner Bros. Discovery brand has undergone a cancellation spree in recent weeks, axing a handful of beloved Home & Garden Television (HGTV) home improvement and real estate shows, including the Daytime Emmy-nominated show "Married to Real Estate." Just last month, Warner Bros. Discoveryannouncedit would be splitting into two publicly traded companies, Streaming & Studios and Global Networks. It's not immediately clear which company will air and continue to produce original content for HGTV. "By operating as two distinct and optimized companies in the future, we are empowering these iconic brands with the sharper focus and strategic flexibility they need to compete most effectively in today's evolving media landscape," David Zaslav, President and CEO of Streaming & Studios, said in a statement. HGTV has yet to address the recent cancellations publicly and representatives did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment on the matter. Here's what we know so far about HGTV cancellations this summer. Christina Haack, host of HGTV show "Christina on the Coast," spoke out in aJuly 19 social media postreferencing reports byPeopleandUs Weeklythat the show had been canceled. "Summer so far. Basically just eating and laughing," Haack wrote in the caption for her photo dump."Canceled looks good on me…. Only kidding only kidding." According to HGTV, the series followed real estate and flipping expert Christina [Haack] as she helped clients transform their outdated properties into high-end homes in Southern California. Haack's show ran for six seasons, starting in May 2019, on HGTV. After a four-season run, hosts of the Daytime Emmy-nominated show "Married to Real Estate" announced in late June that HGTV had decided not to "move forward" with the show. "While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful," Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jacksonshared in a joint statement via social media."Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all— grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other)." Egypt Sherrod, a real estate broker and designer, and her husband Mike Jackson helped clients in Atlanta find homes in their dream neighborhoods. "By using their unparalleled real estate expertise, they'll make smart purchases and even smarter renovations while managing their busy family,"HGTV wrote of the show. The show made its debut on HGTV in January 2022 and aired a total of 44 episodes. Alison Victoria, host of renovation competition show "Battle on the Beach," recently revealed that the show would not be returning for a fifth season on HGTV. Nayak, who co-hosted the show with Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak, broke the news onher podcast "Pap Smear." Nayak loved working on the show, telling comedian Retta that it was "so fun and funny" but that the editing did not reflect that. "And then all of a sudden, I watch the episode... I'm like, 'well, where'd all that go?' I get it, right, it's a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes. But where is it? Like, where's the great editing?" Victoria said. "You'll lose a show that way. I truly believe that. And 'Battle on the Beach' did not get picked back up, which is sad, cause it was like adult spring break." Pennington and Nayak have yet to publicly address the cancellation. According to HGTV, "Battle on the Beach" followed three teams of house flippers as they renovate identical beachfront properties for a chance to win $50,000. Ty Pennington, Alison Victoria and Taniya Nayak served as mentors, pitching in to help teams as needed. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jonathan Knight-Rodriguez (@jonathanrknight) Jonathan Knight, co-host of "Farmhouse Fixer,"announcedin late June that HGTV was not going to renew the show for a fourth season. "A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer. I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season," Knight wrote in a June 25 post. "While I'm still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons." The New Kids on the Block singer, who hosted the show with interior designer Kristina Crestin, went on to say that television "has been so incredibly fun for us." "We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what's next for us." The pair restored centuries-old farmhouses across New England together, working to "keep that history alive by breathing new life into the houses,"according to HGTV. "Farmhouse Fixer" made its HGTV debut in March 2021, airing22 episodes. Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas, co-hosts of"Bargain Block,"confirmedin June that viewers would not be seeing them on HGTV "for much longer." "Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol. Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we're excited that we've built such an amazing base of followers and we're very excited about the future," the couple said in a joint statement. "Everyone always told us TV is a fickle world and they are very right. Tv is full of a lot of great people but it's also full of some of the worst people I've ever encountered," the statement continued. Bynum said he and Thomas have "always tried hard to stick to what we know and what we're good at which is being ourselves." "We love you all and we're very excited to announce what's next soon!" the couple said. Real estate adviser Shea Hicks-Whitfield, who hosted the show alongside the couple, has not formally addressed the cancellation. According to HGTV, the show followed the trio as they worked on their mission to revive Detroit "one block at a time." "Bargain Block," which premiered in April 2021, ran for four seasons on HGTV. "Partners Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas want to be part of restoring the iconic American city of Detroit," HGTV says. "The scrappy visionaries buy run-down and abandoned properties and transform them into affordable, stylish starter homes for first-time homebuyers." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Israel Battres (@izzybattres) Izzy Battres, host of HGTV show "Izzy Does It,"addressedcancellation rumors on June 9, when a fan asked about the show's second season. "It's not the news we wanted to give, but here it is: there will be no Season 2," Battres replied. "Still, we're so grateful for every single person who tuned in, supported us, and made the first season unforgettable." The show, which premiered in early February, followed the "bustling business" that is Battres Construction, Battres' family-owned renovation and design firm, over the course of eight episodes. "After years of renovating million-dollar homes on the California coast, Izzy Battres uses expert cost-saving techniques to bring luxury renovations to homeowners with relatable budgets,"HGTV wrote about the show. Almost 200,000 play kitchens recalled after death of toddler who was strangled on hookNew Foto - Almost 200,000 play kitchens recalled after death of toddler who was strangled on hook

A recall of around 192,000 play kitchens has been issued after a toddler died of strangulation in Oregon while playing with one. Backyard Kids, LLC, of Plano, Texas, announced the recall of the KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchens on Thursday. The company is offering to replace the hooks on all units, which are used to hold toy kitchen accessories, like pots, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The kitchens are originally manufactured by KidKraft, Inc., and only about 400 of them were sold by Backyard Kids LLC to consumers, including 12 sold in Canada. The kitchens retail from $120 to $270 and were sold on KidKraft.com, Amazon.com and Walmart.com from 2018 to this month, per the safety commission. The recall comes after a hook caught onto the shirt of a 23-month-old in Oregon who was crawling through an opening in the back of the play kitchen in 2023. "The child was unable to rescue himself and died from strangulation and asphyxia," the safety commission said in a news release. In astatement, KidKraft said that the model 53411 play kitchens "pose a strangulation and asphyxia hazard and a risk of serious injury or death to young children who are climbing on the counter or crawling through the opening at the back of the play kitchens." "Your safety is our first priority," the toy manufacturer said in the statement. The company filed for bankruptcy in May 2024. It is unclear if this is connected to the toddler's death in 2023. Backyard Kids, LLC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. People who have the toy kitchens are advised to stop using them, remove the original hooks and contact Backyard Kids, LLC for replacement hooks, the safety commission said.

El Salvador approves indefinite presidential reelection and extends terms to 6 yearsNew Foto - El Salvador approves indefinite presidential reelection and extends terms to 6 years

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (AP) — The party of El Salvador PresidentNayib Bukeleapproved constitutional changes in the country's Legislative Assembly on Thursday that will allow indefinite presidential reelection and extend presidential terms to six years. Lawmaker Ana Figueroa from the New Ideas party had proposed the changes to five articles of the constitution. The proposal also included eliminating the second round of the election where the two top vote-getters from the first round face off. New Ideas and its allies in the Legislative Assembly quickly approved the proposals with thesupermajoritythey hold. The vote passed with 57 in favor and three opposed. Bukeleoverwhelmingly won reelectionlast year despitea constitutional ban, after Supreme Court justices selected by his party ruled in 2021 to allow reelection to a second five-year term. Observers have worried that Bukele had a plan to consolidate power since at least 2021, when a newly elected Congress with a strong governing party majority voted toremove the magistratesof the constitutional chamber of the Supreme Court. Those justices had been seen as the last check on the popular president. Since then, Bukele has only grown more popular. The Biden administration's initial expressions of concern gave way to quiet acceptance as Bukele announced his run for reelection. With the return of U.S.President Donald Trumpto the White House in January, Bukele had a new powerful ally and quickly offered Trump help by taking more than 200 deportees from other countries into a newly built prison for gang members. Figueroa argued Thursday that federal lawmakers and mayors can already seek reelection as many times as they want. "All of them have had the possibility of reelection through popular vote, the only exception until now has been the presidency," Figueroa said. She also proposed that Bukele's current term, scheduled to end June 1, 2029, instead finish June 1, 2027, to put presidential and congressional elections on the same schedule. It would also allow Bukele to seek reelection to a longer term two years earlier. Marcela Villatoro of the Nationalist Republican Alliance (Arena), one of three votes against the proposals, told her fellow lawmakers that "Democracy in El Salvador has died!" "You don't realize what indefinite reelection brings: It brings an accumulation of power and weakens democracy ... there's corruption and clientelism because nepotism grows and halts democracy and political participation," she said. Suecy Callejas, the assembly's vice president, said that "power has returned to the only place that it truly belongs ... to the Salvadoran people." Bukele did not immediately comment. Bukele, who once dubbed himself "the world's coolest dictator," is highly popular, largely because of his heavy-handed fight against the country's powerful street gangs. Voters have been willing to overlook evidence that his administration like others before it had negotiated with the gangs, before seeking astate of emergencythat suspended some constitutional rights and allowed authorities to arrest and jail tens of thousands of people. His success with security and politically has inspired imitators in the region who seek to replicate his style. Most recently, Bukele's government has faced international criticism forthe arrestsofhigh-profile lawyerswho have been outspoken critics of his administration. One of the country's most prominenthuman rights groupannounced in July it was moving its operations out of El Salvador for the safety of its people, accusing the government of a "wave of repression."
