OREO has announced the arrival of a new flavor, but fans aren't sure how they feel about it.

The sandwich cookie company partnered with another fan-favorite snack brand to bring the mashup to customers.

As of Wednesday, the pre-sale is underway for foodies to get their hands on the limited-edition Sour Patch Kids flavor.

It will hit store shelves for all customers starting May 6, per a press release.

The official name for the product is Oreo Sour Patch Kids cookies, and the companies call it the "ultimate sweet and sour collaboration."

Mondelēz International, the parent company of both Oreo and Sour Patch Kids, noted that the fresh addition comes in the form of Golden Oreos with vanilla cookies on the outside.

The white creme in the middle is also the same but features colorful sour sugar additives that make up the Sour Patch Kids touch.

Some Oreo lovers were immediately against Oreo Sour Patch Kids cookies before even trying them.

"These just sound gross," a fan wrote in a post to X, formerly Twitter.

"Ew," another added.

"Wtf gross," a third echoed.

While a few felt the sour and sweet might not mesh well together, others were overjoyed at the prospect.

"They're amazing!!" a customer exclaimed in a post.

"I've been waiting for this my whole life," another fan wrote.

"I'll totally be giving it a try!" someone else commented.

Others were just shocked that the combination came to be.

"This is not true, is it?" a foodie asked.

HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED

Caroline Suppiger, senior associate brand manager at Oreo, called the limited-time flavor a "playful" takeover.

"The Oreo brand is always looking for playful ways to excite our fans," Suppiger said in the release.

"What better and more unexpected way to do that than letting Sour Patch Kids playfully take over our cookie?!"

Sour Patch Kids innovation brand manager Grace Howard said the Oreo flavor was representative of a "mischievous twist."

"The opportunity to partner with our friends at the Oreo brand to create a mischievous twist on a classic cookie was one we couldn't pass up," she added.

"We are both so excited to see the fan reaction to this sour-then-sweet limited edition cookie."

MERCH MADNESS

The limited-edition Oreos also come with a few added merchandise benefits for enthusiastic supporters, according to Mondelēz International's press release.

They include an Oreo Sour Patch Kids-themed bucket hat, socks, hair clips, a cross-body bag, and even a sweatsuit.

The clothing and gear feature unique designs of Sour Patch Kids and Oreos woven in.

Merchandise items will be available on May 2, a few days before the national release of the limited-edition cookie.
