But some were left questioning why Barry Island chancer Dick Powell was left out of the Christmas Day finale - after wrongly assuming him to be Gwynn's mystery lover. Actor Gwynfor Roberts endeared himself to fans after playing the popular black market trader - the show's only native Welsh speaker - for a handful of episodes.
