BERLIN (AP) — Police in northwestern Germany on Sunday said that several people were injured when a car veered off a road, hit a 7-year-old boy on a trampoline and went flying into a barn roof on its side. Police said that the car first collided with a parked vehicle in the town of Bohmte, broke through a hedge and drove into a garden where it hit the boy. The car then went over uneven ground and it was apparently catapulted into the air and ended up crashing into the roof of a neighboring barn about 3 meters (10 feet) off the ground. The boy was seriously injured, the police statement said. The driver was an unidentified 42-year-old man, and his wife was also seriously injured. Their two sons, ages 11 and 12, and a 13-year-old passenger were also on board, who like the driver emerged with minor injuries. Dozens of firefighters, as well as a dozen ambulances and two rescue helicopters were among the emergency services deployed in response. Images from the scene showed rescuers cutting through the roof, and wreckage of a playground that the car ran through. The car had to be removed from the roof with a crane and was carted away by police. An investigation was underway.

At least 73 people seeking aid in Gaza killed by Israeli gunfire on Sunday, health ministry saysNew Foto - At least 73 people seeking aid in Gaza killed by Israeli gunfire on Sunday, health ministry says

At least 73 people were killed and around 150 people injured byIsraeli gunfirein Gaza while seeking aid on Sunday, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Some 67 people were killed in northern Gaza, the ministry said, while six others were killed in Khan Younis in the south of the Strip. It is unclear whether the 67 people reported killed in northern Gaza were all killed in the same place or in multiple incidents. It marks one of the highest reported death tolls among recent, repeated casesin which aid seekers have been killed. The Israel Defense Forces said that troops had "fired warning shots in order to remove an immediate threat posed to them" after "a gathering of thousands of Gazans was identified in the northern Gaza Strip." "The IDF is aware of the claim regarding casualties in the area, and the details of the incident are still being examined," the Israeli military said, without disclosing any casualty figures. The Israeli military also issued a warning to residents in a number of areas in northern Gaza, including the cities of Beit Lahia, Jabalya and Beit Hanoun. "These areas are active combat zones and extremely dangerous," the IDF's Arabic language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said Sunday. "The Israel Defense Forces are operating in these areas with very intense force. For your safety, movement to these areas is strictly prohibited. Those who heard have been warned." According to Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of theAl-Shifa Hospitalin Gaza, people were shot at by the Israeli army on Sunday morning while attempting to get aid northwest of Gaza City, which is in the north of the enclave. "Al-Shifa Medical Complex is in a catastrophic state due to the overwhelming number of martyrs, injuries and starving civilians," Abu Salmiya told CNN in a statement. "There have been a large number of deaths and injuries among those seeking aid, and ambulances and civilian vehicles have not stopped arriving, transporting the wounded and the dead from the northwestern areas of Gaza," he continued. "A significant number of civilians, and even medical staff, are arriving in a state of fainting or collapse due tosevere malnutrition," he said. The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its Al-Saraya Field Hospital in Gaza City received 120 injured people, some of them in critical condition, on Sunday. It said it also received two dead bodies. "Israeli forces targeted civilians waiting for aid arriving from the Zikim area, north of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. Due to the large number of casualties received by the hospital, new beds were urgently opened to ensure adequate treatment for the injured, as the hospital's capacity is estimated at only 68 beds," the Palestinian Red Crescent said. Meanwhile, residents in the central Gaza city of Deir Al Balah said they were forced to evacuate on Sunday after the IDF dropped flyers warning them to leave the area. "The planes came and dropped many leaflets on us; the entire sky was covered with leaflets on the houses, the streets and everywhere, stating that we had to evacuate from certain areas," one resident, Thurayya Abu Qunneis, told CNN. "We are living on edge. We can't sleep, eat or drink. There is no flour, no anything, and we are hungry," she said. "We are dying, and our children are dying of hunger." Another resident, Mohammad Al Najiri, told CNN: "We were sitting here in the morning when suddenly they sent us messages and warnings telling us to leave. Where should we go? There is no place to evacuate to… we don't know where to go." Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) said in a statement Sunday that Israel's evacuation orders "endanger vital humanitarian and primary healthcare sites… and are accelerating the systematic dismantling of Gaza's already-decimated healthcare system," adding that several humanitarian organizations' offices were "ordered to evacuate immediately," and nine clinics, five shelters and a community kitchen were forced to shut down amid the orders. In another incident on Saturday, at least32 people were killedwhile seeking aid near a distribution point run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, according to the Palestinian health ministry and witnesses. The Israeli military said troops had "identified suspects who approached them during operational activity in the Rafah area" about one kilometer from the aid site "at night-time when it's not active." The IDF said troops had called on the suspects "to distance themselves, and after they did not comply, the troops fired warning shots." It said it was aware of reports regarding casualties and the incident was under review. According to Gaza's Hamas-run Government Media Office, some 995 people have been killed while attempting to obtain food near aid distribution sites between May 27 and Sunday. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said earlier this month that nearly 800 Gazans had been killed trying to access aid between late May and July 7. "The Sopranos" refused to share food with "Sex and the City" while filming in same studio: 'You can't come over here!'

HBO/ Courtesy: Everett; Anthony Neste/Getty Sharing directors is one thing, butaspettaon the catering. The latest episode ofAre You a Charlotte?,Kristin Davis' charming rewatch podcast ofSex and the City, boasts director Allen Coulter, one of the in-house auteurs at HBO during their years of ascent in the late 1990s. And though the two shows had greatly different audiences and tones, he was the first of several directors to cross fromThe SopranostoSex and the City(and back again) in those days. Indeed, both shows being early HBO productions shared many resources, including indoor shooting locations. Davis recalled a time when both series were filming at Silvercup Studios in Queens (you may know its roof from the 1986 action-fantasyHighlander), where, unfortunately, there wasn't quite the generosity between the sibling shows as she had hoped for. HBO/Courtesy Everett Collection "Remember that middle area of Silvercup, because it had been the bread factory, so it wasn't really a proper studio?" Davis asked her old director. "And the different stages would have a common area of hallways, andThe Sopranoswould have their craft services, which was like going to the best Italian restaurant that you could possibly imagine. And our craft services was really, really... not that." Davis, always polite, quickly added, "No offense to anyone who made it. But we would just be like, 'How can we get over there and get the food?' And they would guard that food, do you know what I mean? They'd be like, 'No. You can't come over here.' And we'd be like, 'Please, can we have some meatballs?'" Davis further explained, "On hour 15, you're really wanting theSopranosmeatballs, but you can't have them." Coulter apologized on behalf of "the mob was keeping you away from the food," which then triggered a memory he had, as one of the few with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of both shows. What you probably need to know is that in most movies, shows, television commercials — anything that involves actors eating food — the people on camera usually don't actually swallow what's on their plate. When it gets to take 16, this would lead to greatagita. ButThe Sopranoswas special. "I remember we were shooting a scene at the Bada Bing, you know, the so-called backroom of the Bada Bing, where they're all having lunch and pasta and stuff. When shooting an eating scene, and this would be true ofSex and the City, you always have a spit bucket." HBO/Courtesy Everett Collection Coulter continued, "So we're shooting that and I go over and I was looking at the guys and the guys had the spit bucket up on the table there, but it's completely clean. I said, 'What's the deal there?' They said, 'They just eat everything.' So we did, like, four takes and they would eat four meals." But Davis added that, surprisingly, onSATC, they never used a spit bucket either. "I think it was becauseMichael [Patrick King]and I feel like alsoDarren [Star]really wanted us to eat and keep talking. So, like, we didn't really have the opportunity to be like, 'Okay, spit.' You know?" Davis then noted, however, that "we would order something that wasn't gonna be insane, right, for eight million takes or whatever." One assumes that if they were chowing down on Artie Bucco'szuppa di musselsorcannelloniwith the fresh béchamel, it would be a different story. The ventriloquist's two marriages are covered inShari & Lamb Chop, a new documentary about the trailblazing children's entertainer and her beloved sock puppetLamb Chop. Shari Hurwitz met her first husband, Stan Lewis, when she was just 15. Four years later, the high school sweethearts tied the knot. Stan worked in entertainment, on the business side, as an account executive for a number of TV game shows. He made headlines when he became involved in a "scandal." "They had a bit of a crisis. There was a scandal involving people being manipulated by the show, and there was a big investigation, and the shows were cancelled, and Stan lost his job," Ely Hurwitz, Shari's cousin, explains in the documentary. Kino Lorber The incident was "devastating to Shari and to her parents," Hurwitz notes. "They were very concerned about the impact of the scandal on her public reputation." "That sort of put an end to that marriage. So they separated and got divorced and kept everything as quiet and secret as possible." It wasn't long after her divorce from Stan that the rising star met Jeremy Tarcher, who worked in TV as an assistant program manager and who, according to Hurwitz, "came from a wealthy family and is what we today would call a trust-fund child." She and Tarcher hit it off ("I thought he was the most elegant man I'd ever met — he's so elegant he doesn't even go to bed barefoot," Lewis told PEOPLE in 1976), but he sometimes felt intimidated by her success. Though he was well-educated, Tarcher didn't share Lewis's drive to succeed, which led to some hiccups in their relationship. Still, the two tied the knot less than a year after meeting. Kino Lorber By then, Lewis was already a successful puppeteer, having introduced Lamb Chop on the morning children's TV showCaptain Kangarooin 1957. "You can't open one of the doors without being conked by a rabbit or an elephant," Tarcher toldCuemagazine in 1958, perCBS News. "It's like being married to Fibber McGee." (Fibber McGee was a popular radio and TV character from 1935 to 1960 who was famous for hisoverstuffed closets.) The couple welcomed daughter Mallory in July 1962, as they worked together onThe Shari Lewis Show. After it concluded in 1963, they struggled in their marriage as Tarcher explored new-age ideologies. "The New Age movement was the antithesis of my mother, but she loved her husband, and so she made an attempt to encourage and support," Mallory, 63, explains in the documentary. Ron Galella Collection via Getty The two experienced hard times through Tarcher's experimentation with drugs and lack of drive to match Lewis's professional success. He did, according to the 1976 PEOPLE feature on Lewis, enjoy some success as a publisher of nonfiction and celebrity books, including Johnny Carson'sHappiness Is a Dry Martini. "The thought of not working has never occurred to me," Lewis says in archival footage in the documentary. "I do not understand not working. If I didn't perform, I would do something else. I would write. I'd work in an advertising agency." Despite difficult periods, Lewis and Tarcher worked things out and remained together until her death in 1998 from uterine cancer at age 65. Tarcher died in 2015 at age 83. Shari & Lamb Chopis now playing in select theaters. Read the original article onPeople
