Despite Salamondra's concern, officials in Mexico have reportedly denied that Shanquella's death was a murder and claim that the police investigation did not show signs of foul play. While cops say they don't suspect foul play, her grieving mother believes her daughter suffered a fatal assault. The mom initially thought that her daughter died from alcohol poisoning based on information from Shanquella's friends who she was vacationing with. The friends reportedly told the mom that the business owner had been drinking and began to not feel well. "When the autopsy came back, they said it didn't have anything to do with the alcohol," Salamondra said, according to WNCT. " 'They ' said that she had a broken neck and her spine in the back was cracked. She had been beaten." The family made calls to the FBI and Mexican authorities after receiving the panicked calls from Shanquella's friends. "Each one of the people that was there with her was telling different stories,... Salamondra claimed. ...They said she wasn't feeling well. She had alcohol poisoning. ...They couldn't get a pulse.... LAST CALL Shanquella died not long after she made her last phone call to her mother. During the call, the 25-year-old told Salamondra that their party had a chef. ...They were getting ready to eat. They were eating tacos or a salad or something, and I said, ...OK. I love you. Have a good night, and I will talk to you tomorrow.'... Salamondra said that after that phone call, ...I never talked to my child again. She never made it back home.... The heartbroken mom said that the entire group returned from Mexico, leaving her daughter's body there. Nearly two weeks and $6,000 later, her body is back home, but answers have been hard to come by. ...FOUND BY MAID' Shanquella died around 15 minutes after her injury. The group called the concierge for help who then phoned the doctor to give CPR, according to a representative with CaboVillas.com. ...They didn't call us until the very last minute, and then on top of that, they said the maid found her,... Salamondra told Fox 8. "After they said it was alcohol poisoning, we received the autopsy report on Thursday and it said that her neck had been broken and she had a back spasm there was a crack, spinal cord was crack," her parents said. Online sleuths have circulated a video online that appears to show a naked woman being beaten in a bedroom. The online sleuths have speculated that the victim in the video could be Shanquella, but her identity has not been confirmed. A person can be heard telling her to ...fight back... in the harrowing footage. It is unclear if this video is actually of Shanquella, or if it has anything to do with her untimely death.
